Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Sorrell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up in Coppell, TX I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. I loved studying biology and loved helping people and it seemed like the perfect fit. After high school I attended Abilene Christian University where I studied biochemistry and pre-med and solidified my drive to become a doctor. I got accepted into the med schools across Texas and chose to attend UT Houston with several other classmates from ACU. Four years of hard studying but deep friendships later I was an MD. I came to Dallas for Internal Medicine internship and residency at BUMC downtown. It was an incredible place to train. The physicians and mentors there are some of the best in Dallas and it was an honor to train under them. I finished residency in 2020 during the peak of COVID19. After residency and passing internal medicine boards I joined the hospitalist group at BUMC as attending physician and assistant professor. I worked with that group over the next year and honed my diagnostic skills as I treated many sick patients. After about a year there I decided I wanted to transition to outpatient medicine and do primary care. I knew I wanted to be in the clinic long term and develop more longitudinal relationships with my patients. I took over a practice in McKinney first and worked there for about a year and a half then moved closer to home and worked in a practice in Plano for another year and a half. For three years I practiced in the traditional model, where I witnessed firsthand both the positive impact physicians can make and the limitations of conventional medicine – mainly getting to diagnosis too late. Through one of my patients, I was introduced to the field of functional and integrative medicine—an approach that resonated deeply with my desire to address the root causes of illness rather than merely react to disease. This perspective allowed me to peel back layers of complexity, understand what makes each patient unique, and tailor care to what they truly need. Inspired by this philosophy, I pursued additional training and certifications in personalized, integrative, functional, and longevity medicine. Today I practice this model doing high level concierge care at Gladden Longevity.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall it has been a smooth journey and I am where I am supposed to be now. Each place I have worked has been a new place to learn and grow and I wouldn’t be where I am today without all my previous experience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Today I practice at Gladden Longevity in Irving. Founded my Dr Jeffrey Gladden, a former cardiologist turned longevity medicine expert, the clinic he built seeks to provide the highest level of preventive and diagnostic care anyone can provide. We are constantly seeking to find the newest and best testing and technology to enhance our client experience and care. We start with an in depth call and interview to get to know our clients, their goals and concerns. We then plan 2 days of full testing including VO2 max, metabolic rate (RMR), in depth brain and cognition testing, nervous system balance testing (you would not believe how many people are extremely stressed but don’t even know it – they normalize it), extensive cardiovascular testing (echo, Cleerly CTA, carotid artery, genetics, in depth inflammation and lipid panels to name a few), an in depth look for insulin resistance (again you would not believe how many people are insulin resistant and do not know it), in depth thyroid and hormone testing, gut testing, food sensitivity testing, toxin and chronic infection testing, in depth genetic testing, circulating cancer cell testing, NAD testing, telomere length testing, biological age testing, plus many many more. Everything is personalized to what each client needs. We offer advanced therapies like EBOO and plasmapheresis and will be adding hyperbaric oxygen chamber this year. We track everything with deep lab analysis and utilize AI in most of what we do to help us with insights we might not have even seen. With the vision Dr Gladden and framework Dr Gladden has created here we are able to achieve amazing results for our clients.
What are your plans for the future?
I am looking forward to helping continue to build Gladden Longevity and enhance the vision and the client care.
