Meet Lupita Chavez of LeaveittoLupita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lupita Chavez.

Lupita, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Wow, I honestly never thought about how this all started, I guess it was generating inside of me as I was growing. My family and I were poor when I was a little girl, and like any other Hispanic family my parents worked, worked really hard. So my parents taught us to save and be economically modest with our money. Don’t get me wrong I do love to shop, but I also do it with my brain, thinking about what’s most important and prioritizing.  So growing up, I would always pay attention to how my mom would dress; she was the first strong, independent, women I looked up to. The way she dressed and always looked put together made me admire her. She would never dream of going outside without getting dolled up.

As I started growing up I was blessed to go to the Jack E. Singley Academy which was very open about equality, so there wasn’t much bullying in the way you dressed, your ethnicity, or what sexual preference you wanted to choose. It was very open to using your imagination and choosing what you wanted to be in life. Ever since I graduated in 2010, I felt like every day I get to choose what new thing I want to try to do, or give a chance to at least try it.

I am not sure if it’s because they’re so much hype of the millennium or being an entrepreneur. I really started working a lot on my personal blog about a year ago since I was going through a rough patch through my marriage but with a lot of patience , prayer, and devotion my husband and I prioritized our marriage, and we worked through a lot of struggles and strains.

Which now have made my husband and I very strong and happier. He has always been my rock, never making fun of me when I tell him “I am up to trying another thing, or switching my mind, and redoing something all over again”. Just like my blog got a new update, and I manifested my love for fashion, shopping, and self-love to talk about the three major things women adore. Fashion, accessories, and makeup.

What had me revamping my blog and all social Medias was the fact that I would go out with my husband to the store. I would be helping him choose his clothes that best fit him. With his weight, height and skin tone I would always give him my advice on what color shirts and pants were best for him. I would laugh later when I noticed someone else budding in and listening in to the advice I gave my husband.

I felt like a lot of people out there don’t really have time to look at what’s in and what’s out. What are the kinds of things that look best for their shape and skin tone? What they should give to their mother, sister, girlfriend, or friend as gifts? That’s when I started to do more fashion things on Instagram and all social Medias putting some clothes together that are for the average working plus size women.

But I feel that with the love and support of my followers I have gotten where I am now and will keep working hard to accomplish all my goals. Making me expand to dress, men, women, kids, of all sizes and shapes , and show all fashion things.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Smooth Road… No way Jose… I work a full-time job, go to college part-time, work on my blog and social media, I also have a toddler and my two stepsons every other weekend to juggle around my life is the hardest thing I will ever have to do in my life. My social life and I is something that does not come easy at all.

Many of my followers understand that. Its’ never easy; there’s not enough time or energy throughout the day to do everything you want. If I had the time, energy and money, I would have my own store leaveittolupita selling my brand clothes, in-store and online. I would love to use all my creativity and show women that they can do many things as well, no matter what gender, ethnicity, or age.

Please tell us about LeaveittoLupita.
Well LeaveitoLupita first started out as me going and helping people out with anything they needed help with. You could just ask me and I could take care of it. That’s how the name started Leave it to Lupita.  But it rapidly grew to me currently becoming an ambassador for one of my favorite stores Express; I am collaborating with people in my community to show off how average women, men, and children can be dressed in a budget and still manage to look very fashionable. I have emailed a couple of stores in Irving and Dallas so we can collaborate and grow as well. I am actually soon collaborating with Ana from Irving Mis 15 Boutique and I am super excited to grow and expand my skills and show case more.

Also with the collaboration of Ana Betancourt photography we are creating beautiful pictures with everyday people on the weekends and posting them online and also posting details of them on my blog. As for the logo, Wenceslao Jiménez has also created my new featuring logo, and we are working to branch out and doing more things together in the future.

But for the most part, I love to post outfits, work clothes, and be a good role model to my community. I also love to post some trending makeup looks, and show off some accessories too.  All tho I still have a lot to grow, my proudest moment and most memorable is that I get a lot of people wanting to collaborate with me. “I think it’s because I am a people person, very happy, positive and you can so relate to me and my life” which is also what I feel sets me apart from other girls.

I just hope that more and more people want to come together and create new beautiful things with me. Whether it runways, photo shoots, helping the community, or creating more fashion outfits. Either way, I want to bring positivity to other people’s lives, promote, self-love, equality, and to help the community. I hope that by us collaborating together we can help boom the community and bring more people together make them feel loved and good about themselves. And bring trend to our community. I love My community and I want many more people to also fall in love with it.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over I would tell myself to STOP Procrastinating, I now, know energy and time is precious for a mom, but you can do so much more. I would also stop being shy, that’s something I have to work on even till this day. “Trust me I am a happy , positive person that loves to meet new people but everyone at the beginning on meeting someone is shy” What’s the worst they can say, “No, thank you”?

What I would have done differently is I should have started this when I was much younger so I could show the before and after mommy body “LOL “. Also all the beautiful experiences I was living when I was pregnant and still had time to blog about so many things.
