Meet Madison Hope

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Hope.

Madison Hope

Hi Madison, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in the mountains of Utah, as a young girl, I spent time riding horses and exploring in the mountains and desert. Although, most of my time was always spent painting, coloring, or drawing. I knew without a doubt, I wanted to be an artist. In high school I began to start using charcoal to draw portraits and discover other mediums. This all had an influence on me and eventually lead me to oil painting on large scale canvases images of wildlife and portraits of the southwest. For six years I was focused on developing a southwestern influence in my artwork and I was headstrong on staying with this traditional route.

When I moved to Texas, my life completely changed and the perspective of my career did too. My first mural was in Utah at a ski resort on an old wood barn in 2021. This experience opened my eyes to other possibilities that I would soon act on.

In Waco, Texas I met a Houston muralist who asked me to be her assistant artist for a mural. This muralist was Robynn Sanders, owner of Maverick Murals & Signs. With time spent painting next to one another her craftsmanship and years of knowledge had an influential affect on me. While assisting on other projects with Robynn and doing murals on my own, this lead me to start my own company. Thunderbird Mural & Design is located in Central Texas and travels to make any business or home stand out with pattern schemes, realism, and lettering that is all done with quality and care. In life, you can always count on being humbled in ways we may not understand at the time but if you trust the process and be good to others great things will come. These challenges make us better and lead us where we are meant to be. Though the course may change sometimes, life has its way of making you adaptable in more ways than one, and for that, I am grateful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By choosing a career path that goes against the grain, you know it will come with the doubts of others and even the people you love. It’s a beautiful struggle for anyone with a dream. The hardest part and challenge is believing in yourself during those moments.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a full-time artist and business owner. I best describe my work as fine art in southwestern oil painting, large-scale art, and being a muralist. I specialize in color schemes, portraits, attention to detail, and design. I am most proud of my work ethic and craftsmanship.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the opportunity that Dallas and Texas as a state provides to all walks of life. THE HEAT is my least favorite.
