Meet Mamie Collins of Mamie Marie Esthetics in Plano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mamie Collins.

Mamie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was working at job at 24 and I was sitting there wondering what I wanted to do with my life. I have always had a passion for women empowerment and enjoyed mentoring and helping women with their goals and aspirations. In college, I was a part of a women’s group. I was planning on attending school for fashion but decided to go with makeup instead. I went to esthetics school to get a certification in the field. I worked as a business manager for Clarins for a few months and fell in love with skin and how it gave women great confidence. I have been practicing esthetics since 2014. I opened up my shop in 2016.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been like that ice cream rocky road. I would say trying to predict the results for my clients in order to give them an expectation. I give great results, one day I get a “I hate my skin” and the next day it’s like “oh thank you sooo much.” The beauty industry is so tough. It’s all love and all good. I’m passionate about my craft and want to make everyone happy.
