Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Lepp and Shawn Fehily.
Marcus and Shawn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We (Shawn Fehily and Marcus Lepp) decided to take our joint 40 experience in the mortgage industry and start our own operation. So we started out as a small operation with six employees, in an office that nobody would want to come and visit with separated office space, a broken elevator, broken bathroom, and didn’t even have coffee. Fast forward three years, we now work out of an office that is very welcoming for people to visit, with working facilities, coffee, and 30 employees. Out of 150 branches with Bank of England Mortgage, we are now top 5 in the company, licensed to do residential mortgages in all 50 states.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it definitely was a very bumpy road. Having to navigate through internal challenges, different personalities clashing, figuring out how to trust one another as business partners as well as decision-makers wasn’t easy. Changing the way that we both did things in the past to the way we agreed to do things moving forward had its ups and downs but definitely worth every disagreement, argument, and celebration along the way.

We may have the title “Bank of England Mortgage” but our bank is not from England, U.K. we are an American-owned bank from England, Arkansas.
