Meet Marcus Stone of The Unapologetic Hustle in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Stone.

Marcus, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey began as a humble kid who aspired to fulfill his dreams of being remembered for doing positive things that helped people. A dreamer who aspired to leave a legacy like several prominent community leaders whom provided education, resources, and outlets for people to better their circumstances. Life had other plans for me, though from being raised by a single mother for most of my infancy to early childhood years; to enlisting in the United States Army at seventeen years of age. My experiences are very similar to many people but it’s the lessons I’ve learned from my adolescence, fatherhood, service to this country that have created and molded me into the man you see today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
To answer your question simply, no it hasn’t been a smooth road. However, I’m a firm believer that if we develop the mindset to improve ourself everyday, then we position ourselves to LEARN from the challenges and obstacles that life and business brings us. The first obstacle I face was a wrestle with comparing myself to other radio personalities and saying, “I wasn’t capable or qualified to replicate something like that.” I remember having a conversation with a friend about it and I said, what do I have to offer people and who would want to listen to me. My friend replied with, everybody has a story to tell and who would be more qualified to tell your story than you? That conversation led to the beginning of “The Unapologetic Hustle”.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m a Multi-discipline entrepreneur and Radio Personality. I’m am most recently known for creating a platform for other entrepreneurs, creatives, artists, thinkers, educators, and everyday people to tell their story within its intended context through conversation so that viewers, listeners, and followers understand the journey and purpose for the created elements. In doing that they also learn about the mindset and process of the entrepreneurship journey.

I’m most proud of the continued support to tell my story while helping other tell theirs and even encouraging others start their journey in creating their own destiny. I believe it’s the simplicity and commonality that sets me apart from others. What I do is not to gratify me it’s to build up the communities we live in. Be the change you want to see. That change starts with self.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Great question! I define success by self worth not solely in the monetary sense but the value you bring enriching others lives, along with the legacy I leave in the lives of people whom I come in contact with. So with that, I am able to help communities grow.

I believe firmly that you have to find the inner peace within yourself to truly understand and define what success is for your life. For me personally it’s defined by Faith, Family, Perseverance, and Hustle.
