So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My career in the cosmetic industry began in the year 2000. I worked behind the counter for brands like Lancome, Clinique, Too Faced & in 2010 I became the Education Manager for Anastasia Beverly Hills and that’s where my passion for brows began. I serviced Nordstrom & other retails stores in multiple states & trained the aestheticians on how to perform the brow service. In 2012 I got my Aesthetician license & that’s when The Brow Shaping Queen was born. I began working in a super cute small boutique in Downtown Mckinney, we offered brow shaping Master Classes and one on one services as well. From there I moved to a Medspa where I continued to offer my services until I decided it was time to venture out on my own into my own studio. Now you can find me in the heart of Downtown Frisco in a very chic private studio.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I paced myself through the years and made small investments along the way until I reached one goal at a time. A struggle I had was balancing life with motherhood, having to work late days and weekends to grow my business. Another struggle was finding the perfect studio, I searched for 3 years…. until I found the perfect one!!!
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth ride but it also wasn’t a huge struggle…. I surpassed the hills and celebrated the valleys until I arrived to my destination.
Please tell us about The Brow Shaping Queen.
As The Brow Shaping Queen, I specialize in everything BROWS! From shaping aka waxing to microblading and now coming soon…. will be offering Henna Tinting! So if you are looking for a brow guru, I’m your girl. Being an aesthetician, I also analyze my client’s skin as I am working the brows, it’s inevitable, it’s part of being an aesthetician, and it’s innate. That’s the reason I began offering additional services such as Dermalinfusion & Dermaplaning. I saw a need… my clients were seeking advice & I didn’t want to continue referring them out to someone else. Along with my brow services my most sought out combo is called “Trifecta”. I shape the brows, continue with a Dermalinfusion treatment & finish with Dermaplaning, 3 services in 1 visit! My clients love the way they look & feel when they walk out of my studio. What sets me apart is that I always offer 3 samples at every visit… it can be samples of skincare, sun care or makeup & I also offer a referral program, I’ve has clients walk out with a free service that they earned via referrals!
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have invested in my Dermalinfusion device sooner & would have offered more retail products earlier. But it’s never too late! When you are in my studio you can purchase your brows products from me & not have to worry about running to another store & pray you got the right shade of products…. it’s a one stop shop!
