Meet Mariah Jones of Mommies and More

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Jones.

Mariah, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I wanted to have “a thing.” Something that I was good at, something that I could work on that would genuinely bring me joy. Although I was working in the exact field that I thought I wanted to be in. It had become just a job, and there was nothing fun about it. I’d sit at my desk on lunch with a notebook brain storming things that I could do on the side to find this excitement that I was lacking. Then it hit me one day, I’m good at being a mom. (I’m actually one hell of a mom if I must say so myself).

At the time I was still a fairly new mom, Kingsten was only around six months old. I was and still am utterly obsessed with him. From there I knew I wanted to do something centered around being a mom because I genuinely loved it some much. It didn’t take me long to realize that I didn’t really have any mom friends. I mean I had friends, but I was “the mom” out of my group of friends. Me discovering that was basically the birth of “Mommies and More.”

I then knew that I wanted to bring moms together. To be able to have the time to vent to someone who really gets it, relax and have a little time to unwind without the kids. I feel like that’s something we all deserve, so I did just that. I had my first event “Moms Night In” December of 2016, and now that’s my thing. Three years later and I still genuinely enjoy it.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been bumps, but overall the show of support has been amazing. Moms hear what I’m doing and want to be a part of it, and I truly love that.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mommies and More – what should we know?
Mommies and More is a moms group for your typical modern day mom. I throw different mom only events as a way to bring moms together to network.

We’ve had events such as Moms Night In, which consists of a night of pampering and relaxation. That’s something we can all use, especially us mommies. We’ve also had events like Moms & Mimosas where we provide brunch, and different guest speakers come in. It’s always something new, beneficial and fun!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe my genuine excitement about being a mom is a big contributor to my success. It makes moms like me want to come to my events to be around other like-minded women.

I’m just a mom bringing other moms together to create good energy, amazing vibes, and real bonds. The fact that I’m so passionate about it is what I feel sets me apart from others.
