Today we’d like to introduce you to Maricarmen Arras.
Maricarmen, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been a stay at home mom for a while now and I’ve always wanted to be my own boss as well as have time for my family. My interest in eyelash extensions started when I was a regular client and from there, I realized it was a profession I wanted to pursue. In January of 2019, when I started at Learn Lash Repeat Academy, my passion for this increased since day one I knew I was doing something I love. Thanks to the practice with my models I now feel more comfortable and experienced, I have learned new techniques and I’m very grateful for all their support.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy journey, but everything has left a big lesson for me. Finishing my training at the Academy and passing the tests to get licensed was a challenge mainly because English is not my first language but with determination, you can achieve anything. Being an entrepreneur is not always a smooth road. There are days when I have more costumers than others, but I feel that it’s about remaining true to yourself and focusing on your goals. It’s a blessing to have people by my side that motivates me not to give up and give me their unconditional support in all aspects of my life and business.

In Pink Moon Lash Studio, I offer services for distinctive needs and wants from a natural look to an extremely dramatic one, always taking care of the health of the client’s natural lashes. What I’m most proud of is getting to see the smile on the client’s face when they see the final result, that fills me with both emotions and satisfaction. For now, I offer sets of Classics, Hybrid, Volume and Mega personalized to what the client likes. What sets me apart from others is the passion I invest in my work and my responsibilities as a Lash Artist are to always take care of the wellness of the natural eyelashes of each client. I always aim to fulfill their expectations of the desired look, also educating my clients on the importance of finding a professional in this industry with a licensed that takes in mind these details.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
For me, success is the happiness I get from each achievement no matter how big or small it might be. Even though this is my first year in this industry, and I still have a long way to go to get where I want to be, I feel proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone. Not only that but also having my own studio, I am still working on meeting my goals without giving up. The road to success is not easy, but it’s not impossible, you have to take a lot of risks, and learn from your mistakes. The key is to start small to be BIG.
