Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario Herrera.
Mario, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The way I started my journey in the Media World was actually by accident. In High School, I always enjoyed taking pictures of things that were going on around me. I never thought it would turn into a career and launch me into different and exciting business opportunities. As I started to learn how to edit random photos in photoshop people seemed to like the work. This then motivated me to continue down this path of being a photographer starting off with Cars, Models and Rap Artist. That eventually led me to start shooting videos for Car Clubs and Music Videos for Artists. The crazy part is that this all started in High School with a little simple point and shoot camera. Now with the way technology has advanced, I have been able to use Drone Technology to give me a different perspective. Drones are now an everyday tool in my life and Drones have lead me to learn about Artificial Intelligence, App Creation, 3D Mapping, Infrared Technology and become a Co-Founder of a great startup company called RoofFax.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Like every Entrepreneur can tell you there will always be struggles along the way. The thing to always keep in mind is that Your Fate is In Your Hands. Success is the only option for anyone starting their own business. With millions of photographers in the world, standing out is your only option. By learning through experience you figure out the Do’s and Don’ts of the industry. The main struggles you will come across in the industry is how to make your customer happy with the deliverables and Taxes.
Please tell us about Spiderweb Media.
What I do in Spiderweb Media is trying to be a “One-stop shop” for all of your Media needs. If it comes to Photos, Video, Logos, Marketing and Design, I want to do it all. I specialize in Aerial Photography and Videography but probably best known for the cruises I used to host. (Great Times). I am most proud of being able to integrate different technologies into my work and always trying to stay ahead of the curve. I feel what sets Spiderweb Media apart from other companies is that taking risk to get the perfect shot is always a must. Standard photography does not interest me unless we can get creative and deliver something that others may not have.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over the only thing I would change would be studying more during high school instead of goofing around to have a greater advantage when I started my journey. Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing, everything happens for a reason.
