Meet Mario and Ivan Urtecho of La Comida in Addison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mario and Ivan Urtecho.

At an early age, Mario and Ivan started working in their family’s restaurants where they had the opportunity to learn all the techniques for successful sales in the restaurant business and knew that it would be a part of their lives forever. In the 1990’s, they moved to Dallas and started working for a prominent Mexican restaurant chain. They both started as servers and earned their way up to the top. They were such a dynamic team with their combined knowledge and skill that eventually they were given the task to open and operate all of the new locations for the restaurant chain. They successfully launched fourteen new locations! Along the way, they met countless celebrities, fans, and friends and most if not all of them still follow and support them in each of their endeavors. Mario and Ivan had the dream of opening their own restaurant and decided to do just that when they opened La Comida in 2014! From day one they have won several different awards for Best Mexican Restaurant, Best Margarita, etc. They continue to win these awards because they serve top quality food and drinks with the best and freshest ingredients and the amount of passion they put behind every detail every time. Their passion for their business has no limit, they believe in and are living the American dream.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life is never smooth! We chose to take the road less traveled and carved our way into the life we live and enjoy today. Our journey has led us to many different experiences, joys, and friends along the way. We’ve learned so much by each step and continue to grow from our experience.

We proudly continue our family’s tradition with the ownership of La Comida in Addison. After three short years, we have proved to be not only the best Mexican food restaurant in Addison but in Texas as well. We use quality ingredients in all our food and drinks and our secret ingredient in it all, love. We truly love what we do and have an undeniable passion for working in the restaurant industry. Our Pork Conchinita Pibil Tacos are made with our mom’s family recipe to this day and a true favorite by all.
