Thanks for sharing your story with us MarQuita. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Klarity Kosmetics was founded in 2014. I always had a hard time finding the right shade for my complexion or finding products at an affordable price. My skin has always been super sensitive as well, so one day I sat down and tried to figure out a way to come up with my own cosmetics line. That’s when Klarity Kosmetics was officially born! I opened on June 24, 2014 and the company has been on a roll ever since. I initially started out buying private label from a lab, but their prices were so high. About a year in, I decided to take a step back and look into hand making every product that Klarity Kosmetics carries, while remaining vegan and cruelty free. It has definitely been a learning experience, but they turn out, has been nothing short of amazing!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all. There have been many bumps in the road. From handling customer service properly, making sure packages are shipped in a timely manner and packaged right, as well as continuously perfecting our products. We’ve learned so much alone, just in the process of going to a major retailer for the first time in 2019.
Klarity Kosmetcs – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Klarity Kosmetics specializes in a wide range of products. We hand make everything from our matte liquid lipsticks, moisturizing lip glosses, liquid creme lipsticks, highlighters, foiled and super pigmented matte eye shadows, liquid eye liners, and our gorgeous pressed pigment palettes. And this is to name a few! I would have to say we are known for our amazing quality and bold colors. We literally have a product and shade that will suit any skin complexion! What sets us apart would definitely have to be the products that we release. We’re always coming out with something new. Exciting new packaging, the giveaways, customer service, you name it! We also offer wholesale options to those looking to start their own cosmetics line or add to an existing line they may have. We offer different packages that help them perfect their formulas using our custom made bases and shades.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is knowing I was able to offer amazing and affordable products to everyone, while still being able to take care of my family and others. My goal is to one day open a non-profit homeless shelter to help those in need, get back on their feet. In doing so, I would like to be able to offer them jobs to help them earn money and get back on their feet so that they can become self-sufficient again.
I want to leave a legacy behind for my family to continue long after I’m gone. My goal is for Klarity Kosmetics to be a household name, and be known for being more than just a cosmetics company that only contributed to one aspect to this world.
