Meet Mary Morelion of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Morelion

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in a family where beauty and digital were used for our creative outlets. My mother and a few sisters are cosmetologists and an uncle who encouraged some of us nieces and nephews to be creative using digital arts. I was in love with both web designing and makeup. However, life took its turn for me when I had a family so instead I went into the field of mental health. For the longest time, I focused on family and jobs in mental health. In 2016, we started the process of fostering to adopt children. In 2018, I took time away from working to help my children adjust to the two new additions to our family. During the next year, I started playing with makeup again and web designing. One of my sisters even gifted me my first makeup kit. In 2022, I started taking some courses to get certificates and learn from Professional Makeup Artists to perfect my skill in makeup artistry. In 2024, I officially launched my company SheDid and branded myself as a Digital Beauty Alchemist who brings my clients a mix of beauty and digital design.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Building a new business has its bumps. Being a Digital Beauty Alchemist is new and unheard of, so, it has taken longer to build a client base. Like any entrepreneur, I have learned and continue to learn how to market my brand, network my company, ensure there is a follow-up with potential new clients, and maintain relationships with current clients. On this path, I will continue to learn how to navigate the waters of being an entrepreneur and create a positive perception of what a Digital Beauty Alchemist is, and hopefully see more Digital Beauty Alchemist.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a Digital Beauty Alchemist, I offer services in makeup artistry, beauty chemistry, and web design. My client’s skin is my canvas. I bring to life their inspirational looks for photoshoots, special occasions, or just simply going out for a night out. I also, create custom foundations that are unique for my client’s skincare and tone. I love doing this as I’m able to create a custom foundation that is tailored to match the client’s skin tone in front of the client and meet their skincare needs, such as adding a hydrator that keeps water flowing to the skin for dry skin or oil control for those with oily skin. I love being able to do this for my clients as they do not have to worry about purchasing more than two foundation bottles at the store just to match their skin. In addition to this, I’m able to match over 4000 skin tones as the foundation is completely tailored to the client. In addition to my makeup artistry and beauty chemistry, I also offer web design for clients to create web pages for their businesses that bring the client’s vision to life.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Yes, I’m mobile as well, sometimes clients don’t have the time to come to me, so I make it my mission to come to them.
