Meet Maryanne Zamora of Mazamoravisuals and Visuaholic in Plano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maryanne Zamora.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Maryanne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love and passion for the Travel industry started me on the road to becoming a Travel Agent and further enhanced my interest in seeing our big, beautiful and sometimes confusing planet. Over the years, I realized that I had just as much desire to explore my creative potential and artistic abilities as I did traveling the world. This led me to pursue formal education in Professional Photography at Collin College in Plano, Texas and take freelance jobs as a Writer and Photographer for local magazines.

I am now in a very fulfilling place in my life where I have the privilege of combining my love for the Travel Business with Writing and Photography. I am actively pursuing a career path as an up-and-Coming Travel Writer and Photojournalist. I also manage my dynamic Social Media Pages and upcoming Travel Photo Blog from the unique and surreal perspective of Infrared and Lo-fi Holga Film Photography with a liberal dash of Cross-Processing and Creative Effects Film Photography techniques.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been smooth-sailing. However, Theodore Roosevelt once said: “Nothing worth having comes easy.” The biggest challenge for me right now is to grow my audience and to find more consistent streams of revenue and to refine my business model. Of course, creating killer content is always the key. Content is Queen, as they say. As long as I continue to focus on producing work that will resonate with and delight my audience, I am confident that my path ahead will remain bright. I am very proud to say that my platform has grown much larger today than when I first started out.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a freelance Travel Content Producer (primarily a Writer/Photographer) and also the Creator of an Upcoming Travel and Arts-focused Photo Blog that sees the world through an Infrared and Lo-fi Photography lens. My goal is to use offbeat techniques in digital and film photography such as Cross-Processing, Pre-exposed films, and Infrared to communicate my love of travel and to portray the world from a fun, colorful, and unconventional perspective. My hope is that this free-spirited point of view will excite and encourage my audience to get off their feet and travel the world (or even just to see their neighborhood travel options in a different way.) I think that my company is distinctive because I don’t know of many Travel Blogs around the world that have taken the same fun-loving approach to Travel Photography.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think luck has something to do with it! And a lot more hard work. And daily hustling. And creating. But, it can’t hurt to have some good luck too, that’s for sure.
