Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Badke and Carmela Badke.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We have been on a number of adventures since the beginning of our relationship. Some have been exciting and fun, others have been scary and life-threatening. No matter what, we’ve always had each other’s backs and try to make the best out of every situation.
Friends and family who followed us on social media would often marvel at how we’d find out about fun and unique events and places. And one day it hit us! Why not start an Insta-blog to help other transplants find their way? And DallasPartyof2 was born.
Many blogs focus on Dallas proper, so we try to highlight the ever-growing and increasingly cool suburbs that make up DFW. We’ve gone from a handful of friends following us to over 8,500 followers! It’s been an incredible journey, and sometimes even we can’t believe how far we’ve come!
Has it been a smooth road?
If life were easy, it would be rather boring! Our journey has been fraught with lots of setbacks and challenges but also lots of highs and happy moments. We left behind our family and friends in NJ for the greener pastures of Texas. Two years ago, Hubby was diagnosed with severe anxiety.
Some of the worst moments of his life have made him passionate about trying to remove the stigma around mental health. We also struggled with making new friends as adults in a new city while figuring out how to be so far from our loved ones- especially when they were ill or passed away unexpectedly.
On the other hand, we got engaged and married in our new home state of Texas and for that DFW will always hold a special place in our hearts. We also adopted both of our rescue dogs after moving here, and they’ve provided us with more love and happiness than we could have ever imagined.
Our biggest struggle with DallasPartyOf2 is coming up with fresh and relevant content, standing out from all the other bloggers in town and understanding Instagram’s ever-changing algorithms!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Dallas Party of 2 story. Tell us more about the business.
Our main goal is to bring a sense of community to the people of DFW. We know all too well what it’s like to move to a new city and have no idea where to get a good meal or how to find out what’s happening on the weekend.
Our goal is to help adults meet other adults while doing fun things. And we want to help lifelong Dallasites feel that sense of wonder about their city. You know the feeling of being a tourist in a new city?
DFW has so much new stuff going on all the time, it’s easy to keep that same spark alive right here in North Texas!
