Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Meredith.
Matt, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As the youngest child in my family, I was extremely competitive and fortunate that my brother and cousins never took it easy on me. A large chunk of my childhood consisted of basketball, baseball, and trash-can basketball at my mother’s small CPA business in Irving TX.
Here is where I had a front row seat to see how business was done. Even if I was just fetching breakfast for the team or shredding papers, I thoroughly enjoyed working in a team environment.
Over a decade later, I realized I wanted to be in the business world and eventually an entrepreneur but I knew I needed to learn a craft that would be of significant value to my family firm and not just a son of the owner. My options were pretty slim, either learn taxes or figure how to get more business in the door. It was a very easy choice. The rush of landing a new account and playing a major role in how that client found us became an addiction. I spent years learning and studying all the resources that play a major role in new client acquisition and retention. Web design, SEO, Content, Paid Click Campaigns, Re-marketing, Print, Email, Events, and Graphic Design were all tools I knew I needed to be familiar with to keep branding consistent and capitalize on the most important channels where our client base was. Fast forward to today and MeredithCPAs is one of the fastest growing full-service CPA Firms in Dallas / Ft Worth. This kind of growth does not come from one person’s efforts but rather collectively as a team. We have a team of professionals who put the clients first and place a priority on communication and timely responses.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been the smoothest road but it has made the ride much more fulfilling. Between family health issues to a year and a half long business lawsuit grind, I consider myself the luckiest guy in the world. I now have a beautiful three-year-old daughter, a four-month-old son, and a wife who keeps my head on straight. I am also blessed to have a business partner who couldn’t complement me better and shares my same vision.

During this acceleration for MeredithCPAs, I had the opportunity to start my own company, GreenBeanIT – Good for Business Health.
Since 2015, we have been offering proactive managed IT services, digital marketing, and consulting to small and medium-sized businesses.
Over the last year, we have overcome significant obstacles while keeping client support and client relationships at the forefront. We stand out from our competitors by realizing we are in the customer service business first and foremost. Everything we do or work to improve is always client focused.
