Meet Matthew Brundrett of The Chosen One Ink Tattoo Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Brundrett.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Matthew. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, I grew up in Grand Prairie TX, 36, with my sister Amy Anderson who is an attorney here in Dallas. My Family has been in Dallas since it 1st started. My Great Grandfather George T. Brundrett was President of ISM Dallas, and also a fellow aggie that was famous for inventing the very first Christmas tree lights! They grew up in Oak Cliff off North Windomere Avenue. They had 4 sons that all went to ww2 including their youngest son, my grandfather Dr.Jack M. Brundrett after losing his brother a Colonel George Thomas Brundrett a POW that died from starvation with his own men in the Philippines captured by the Japanese Army.

My father Frank Brundrett told me that my Great Grandmother Fanney Brundrett would sit outside her front porch and would cry all night trying to cope with the loss of her 1st son George Jr.! My great grandmother used to shelter Texas A&M students during the holiday and the summertime when school was out to students that had no place to go, including billionaire Henry Cook a famous Oil tycoon in Corpus Christi Texas. She never asked a dime from the students her payment was for them to do there homework and to finish college. My grandfather Jack M Brundrett was a very successful Veterinarian that helped start The Dallas Zoo!

He practiced veterinarian medicine there over 30 years, and was also was known to be on movie sets being the veterinarian for the animals in movies such as Benji the hunted, and Clint Eastwood movie Every which way but loose! I am very proud of my family & for what they have done and for what they stood for! That is why I became an entrepreneur. my being for doing something great! My shop is called The Chosen One Ink Tattoo Studio here in Arlington Tx. We have been open since 2009, this studio is like no other tattoo shop I’m telling you! We have some of the best tattoo artist texas has to offer and really cool art displayed all over the studio. It doesn’t take long for our clients to get very comfy here!

From Platinum records on the wall from Elvis Presley to Pantera, Def row, and Corvettes crashed into the wall I promise there’s something you will cherish here! We want this place to be a fun place to visit! I absolutely love my job I love to see our client’s amazed by our work, and our customers to have the absolute best experience here. We have a motto here (You Are The Chosen One)! We take appointment & walk-ins! Please tell us about The Chosen One Ink Tattoo Studio.
My company is called The Chosen One Ink Tattoo Studio its based here in Arlington Texas. I am the owner, I specialize in body piercing and promotion. We have been owner since 2012. We specialize in Realism, traditional, neo-traditional, tribal, scripting, portraits, color portraits to even realism portraits. My artist is Karina Kenderdine, Audra Blalock, Skyler Blum. These artists are the real deal! They draw and draw and draw and practice their art all the time.

In this profession of permanent body art you can’t mess up there’s no eraser on the tattoo machine so we have to take this to the highest of caution. So what sets us apart from the other tattoo studios around? Well, a lot of things, were not your cliche tattoo studio, we are all family and friends. We hang out after hours, we also want to help change the bad rep the tattoo industry may have, dirty, drug addicts, drunks, sacrilegious, etc. There’s a lot of shops that still do that but a lot of shops have gotten more professional over the years. We are a very original studio we do not follow anyone’s fashion or style we have our own!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Good help is very hard to find! Big lesson learned is to take very good care of your employees and they will take good care of you! What goes around comes around! Not much change I would have done with my business but had better judgment with past employees that I have hired in the past, but I had to get the bad experience to learn the lesson right?
