Meet Matthew Karpoff of Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Karpoff.

Hi Matthew, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in the construction industry began nine years ago in exterior sales, where I quickly developed a passion for the trade and a talent for leadership. That path led me to become Vice President of a Fort Worth-based construction company, where I played a key role in growing the business into a multimillion-dollar operation. From there, I broadened my entrepreneurial experience by launching a successful brokerage firm specializing in merchant cash advance and hard money lending. I later contributed to the development and growth of a software company and helped build another construction firm for a close friend.

These diverse ventures strengthened my knowledge across business operations, finance, technology, and construction. But after years of helping others build their visions, I knew it was time to go all in on myself.

In July of 2023, I founded Texas Restoration & Rescue with a mission to carry forward my family’s legacy in water mitigation and restoration. What started with a four-man crew and three trusted homebuilders has grown into a respected company known for quality, reliability, and exceptional service throughout the DFW metroplex.

With the support of key partners—most notably M&G Financial Partners—and a relentless commitment to excellence, Texas Restoration & Rescue has expanded significantly. Today, our team has grown to nine skilled professionals, three officers, and we proudly serve ten major homebuilders in the DFW area. Our services include:

Water Mitigation & Restoration
Residential Remodels
Full-Gut Renovations
Luxury, High-End Remodels
Commercial Tenant Finish-Outs through our dedicated Commercial Division

At Texas Restoration & Rescue, every project is rooted in family values, industry expertise, and the belief that hard work and dedication will always deliver lasting results.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building this company hasn’t been easy. The early days were filled with uncertainty, long hours, and countless challenges. One of the toughest aspects was finding the right people—hiring dependable, skilled laborers who shared the same drive and values wasn’t just difficult, it was exhausting. I had to learn the hard way that talent means nothing without trust and work ethic.

Building relationships with builders, clients, and vendors took time and persistence. I had to prove myself repeatedly, earning trust job by job, showing up every single day, and making sure our work spoke louder than any sales pitch ever could.

There were also financial hurdles. Managing cash flow, covering payroll, and investing in equipment, materials, and overhead without compromising quality was a balancing act—one that often meant sleepless nights and personal sacrifices.

Figuring out how to run a business efficiently was a constant learning process. From accounting systems to scheduling logistics, every decision had a ripple effect. There was no playbook—just trial, error, and determination.

One of the proudest milestones was finally securing our own office and warehouse. It wasn’t just a space—it was a symbol of progress and something tangible to show for the grind. It represented stability, credibility, and the beginning of a new chapter in our growth.

Through all the highs and lows, I never lost sight of the mission: to build something real, something lasting. Texas Restoration & Rescue is more than a business—it’s a testament to grit, growth, and never backing down from the hard road.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Texas Restoration & Rescue, we specialize in water mitigation and restoration, particularly for major homebuilders throughout the DFW metroplex. Beyond that, we’ve built a reputation for high-quality residential remodels, full-gut renovations, luxury high-end transformations, and commercial tenant finish-outs. Our clients know us for stepping into high-pressure situations—whether it’s a flood-damaged home or a demanding remodel—and delivering results with precision, professionalism, and integrity.

We’re not just a service provider—we’re a solution partner. Builders call us when timelines are tight, when other companies drop the ball, or when quality simply can’t be compromised.

I’m most proud of the fact that I built this company from the ground up, starting with a small crew and a handful of trusted partners—and turned it into a growing, respected operation. I’m proud of the relationships we’ve built, the trust we’ve earned, and the jobs we’ve completed that truly changed people’s lives and homes.

But more than anything, I’m proud of betting on myself—of stepping away from comfort and certainty to build something real, sustainable, and impactful. The late nights, the financial strain, the learning curves—it’s all been worth it to see this vision come to life.

We’re not just another contractor chasing a paycheck—we care deeply about doing the job right, solving problems, standing behind our work, and creating real partnerships with the people we serve.

What sets us apart is:

Our responsiveness – We show up, we communicate, and we deliver.
Our standards – We don’t cut corners, and we don’t accept mediocrity.
Our versatility – From emergency water mitigation to luxury renovations, we execute with equal excellence.
Our roots – This isn’t a corporate chain. This is a family-built, values-driven business born from hands-on experience and real hustle.

We take pride in doing the dirty work—literally and figuratively—and in making sure that when we leave a jobsite, it’s better than we found it in every way.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is doing the job right and being the one people can count on when problems need solving. In this industry, things don’t always go according to plan—but that’s where we thrive. I take pride in stepping into tough situations, finding solutions, and delivering results that exceed expectations. It’s not just about finishing a project—it’s about doing it with integrity, precision, and a commitment to making things right for our clients, every single time.
