Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Hassell.
Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey July 2019 when I took my very first lash class. Of course, I could not get it right away so a month later I gave up. Decided I wanted to start again February 2020 so I took a refresher course still could not get the concept so I gave up again. I relocated from Memphis, TN to Dallas, TX. I was here in Dallas for 6 months before I decided to do lashes again. January 25th, 2021, I went to a local lash place here in Dallas & spent my last $400 on everything I needed to start doing lashes again. Back in Memphis, it was extremely hard getting clients & people to practice on. I made 1 post in a Dallas group asking for models & had 10 girls show up & I SHOWED OUT. I did not think I could do it but they’re lashes looked amazing. 2 months into lashes & I had to quit my 9-5 because I was getting so many clients. Here I am now a year later 2022 I’m a 21-year-old Lash Artist & Instructor BOOKED & BUSY.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I’ve overcame very many things. I was afraid to step out my home and get a suite but I did. I struggled many times to keep stock in my supplies but with the help of my supportive boyfriend, he managed to always make sure I had everything I needed starting out. I struggled to keep track & manage my funds but with the help of my mentor Brittany Lewis, she helped me do it. Through my entire 1-year journey Brittany has always been a call away to help me. I struggled with my lashes lasting the amount of time they were supposed to I had a Dallas Lash Sister assist me & I’ve been on & popping since.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My name is Megan & I am a Lash Artist. I specialize in Hybrid, Volume & Mega-Volume lash extensions. I am known for the fullness of my sets, my great attitude, my drive, and pride that I take for my business. I am proud to be still doing lashes a year later after giving up twice. I am proud of the growth I have made doing lashes and how great I have gotten within this year. What sets me apart from others is this is not a side hustle for me, enhancing women’s beauty is something I’ve grown a huge passion for. Doing lashes is very therapeutic for me and is an amazing stress reliever.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me most is the how my business can benefit my customers. I want to give the best service, sell the best products, and provide exceptional customer service. I lost my brother a few days after Christmas 2021 so it is a MUST I put on for 2022 and make him proud. In loving memory of Antwon “Man” Robinson
