

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meri Dahlke.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Meri. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We will have been open 5 years at the end of June 2017. We started with an empty building and overgrown grass in the yard to become what we are now. We won best new bar and best bar food our first year in business. We also do many fundraisers for local rescue groups.
Has it been a smooth road?
Owning a business is stressful. Most bars and restaurants fail within the first year or so. I am honored that we are still around. Our property was sold to Alamo Manhattan so we have a definite expiration date on us now….5 years.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We were the first ones, according to the Dallas Observer, to do proper gastro pub food. We focused on day one having interesting and solid bar food and drinks. We also started taking care of the local cat population by doing fundraisers for Feral Friends thus giving our block healthy spayed and neutered kitties.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Have a lot of money and prepare for the worst.
