Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Clarke.
Micah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I always have the feeling that “This would be a good picture” whenever I’m out and about or traveling with family and friends. I never thought that I would’ve become a photographer! The summer of 2016 is when it all began. I was in Atlanta and I took a picture of a painting that was on the side of this building because I had the feeling that it would be a good picture. A year later, I captured my nephew’s first birthday party and that was the start of my business venture. I came a long way being from Flint, MI capturing the beauty of the city, events, portraits and selling canvas prints. God led me to North Dallas, where I could grow and expand my business. Faith, drive, grit and determination has gotten me where I am today.
Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t believe the journey to success is ever smooth, but that’s what makes it exciting. Some of the struggles I faced was being stagnant and starting over. I had to rebuild clientele and revamp my business. Transitioning to a new state, I didn’t really know anyone and had to find my target market again. Even though I have experience under my belt, the rebuilding stage is slowly but surely progressing.
Please tell us about MDC Photography.
MDC Photography is a business that offers photography and videography services. I specialize in black and white photography and car photography. I’m known for my black and white images and my canvas prints. I’m most proud of being able to bring my client’s ideas to life, provide them with memories for a lifetime, and being able to add to their home or business decor. Something that sets me apart from others is that I offer custom prints (canvas), apparel and my turn around time.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I do believe Dallas is a good place for businesses like mine. Definitely is a lot to photograph and a lot of good people that will support you and your endeavors.
