Meet Michael Garrett of Trusted World in North Texas – Allen and Garland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Garrett.

Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
While volunteering within his community Micheal discovered a deficiency in the way non-profits collected, sorted and distributed resources to their clients.

Michael witness Case Managers struggling with both sides of the equation – handling clients needs emotionally as well as providing the client with resources such as clothing, food, and personal care items. Michael, a six sigma expert, decided to utilize his background in the corporate world, his Six Sigma training and his passion for helping others to form a 501c3 entitled Trusted World.

Trusted World was founded on the premises of helping people, helping people. Trusted World is committed to providing the best resources, for free, to people or organizations who are providing services on someone else’s behalf.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a young organization, the most significant struggle is named recognition. After Hurricane Harvey, many think we are only a disaster relief organization. Then there are our local clients who think of us as a local resource even though we also work internationally.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Trusted World – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Trusted World specializes in the collection, warehousing, and distribution of goods such as food, clothing and personal care items.
Trusted World is known for providing free resources to nonprofit organizations, caseworkers, police departments, schools and other local agencies in need of these resources. What provides Trusted World with its strength is Michael’s corporate background, Six Sigma training and the fact that we are giving away our resources for free.

Michael is most proud of Trusted World as a whole. “I watched something grow from a seed into a thriving organization. Even though we are on our second facility, our growth has been outstanding. When I explain what we do, people light up because we know who we are, we use our skills, our strengths, and our passion.”

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We currently have a warehouse and service center in Garland and a service center in Allen. Trusted World would like to expand through the DFW metroplex, increasing our services centers and developing a distribution hub.

Pricing:

$5,000 allows us to buy all the material to pack 20,000 meals. That’s $0.25 a meal.
$3,600 provides us with a year of fuel for two service vehicles.
$1,500 provides us with a year of insurance for one service vehicle.
