Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Ladwig.
Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I was working on my Masters of Accounting at UNT I realized that going through the traditional CPA path was not for me. I wanted to be part of business; not just looking at it externally as a CPA. I began as a bank auditor for several years and then moved into the private sector as a Financial Controller and then CFO. What I learned during that time is that each small business is as unique as its owner and each owner needs varying services based on their background, desire, and availability. But most of all, what I learned is that small business who have a trusted CFO partner find efficiencies and opportunities that other businesses do not find.
Ladwig Accounting Services was designed to help those business owners. We absolutely provide the traditional accounting, payroll and tax preparation services. But our desire is to understand our client’s business and ensure our expertise provides the support necessary for the business to succeed. We can generate the information and guidance necessary for the success of their business currently and in the future. That effort resonates with small business owners and provides them with the security of knowing we can provide for their needs currently and as they grow.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
All Professional Services have a unifying hallmark; We provide a service and expertise in a specialty our clients require. For accounting and tax services, it is a support role. We value our expertise and desire to make the process easy and almost invisible to the client. But every business is different and each owner is different. We strive to provide professional services and communicate effectively with every client. But I had to learn that the method I developed does not always work with the client. That can be disappointing but it is better that we agree it is not working then to continue the business relationship that the client does not value. That was a hard lesson to learn.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ladwig Accounting Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Small Businesses are unique and each one needs a different mix of accounting and tax services to be successful. Ladwig Accounting’s service approach meets each business where it needs lie. We can be your CFO, Financial Controller, bookkeeper, payroll service provider, and your tax guru.
Our services are as nimble as the client is, as scalable as they need, and available when they need them. This allows our clients to be as involved or uninvolved in the daily accounting tasks of their business knowing they have a trusted partner monitoring the financial health of the business and the tasks involved. Ladwig Accounting prides ourselves on building a flexible model aimed at providing a CFO approach to small business financial management.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am looking to partner with additional small businesses and entrepreneurs.
