Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael McKnight.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Michael. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started when I was just a kid helping my dad work on his vehicles and race cars. I was lucky to have a dad that was not only a dad but a best friend. As I followed in his footsteps I learned to diagnose, repair, and build any and everything. As time moved forward and with the introductions of computers, I felt the passion and need to learn and understand all aspects of the computer technology side. After a long 17 year career working for local Chevy dealer and becoming their lead tech, I found myself having to diagnosis and repair to the most difficult computer problems. That inspired me into the understanding of what goes on inside of computer and how computers control things. It just snowballed at that point. I found myself studying, enrolling in classes, buying programming equipment, etc, to gain the knowledge to fuel my desire to learn computer programming. With the support of my wife, we cashed in everything to build Whitehorse Tuning and Dyno. We now support many local shops and businesses with their computer programming needs. It has now grown to helping fleet owners getting the most productivity from their vehicles, helping farmers produce more with less fuel consumption, and helping race teams win championships.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There had been plenty of bumps in the road. There have been many times I have thought about throwing in the towel. The passion was strong enough to pull me through adversity and move forward.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about WhiteHorse Tuning and Dyno – what should we know?
We offer computer programming from little things like correcting speedometer to read correctly to controlling fleets and their needs to keep their vehicles operating to their specs. We are known for customer service and that is what sets us apart from the rest.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Without the support of my wife, Pam Harvey, none of this would be possible. My daughter, Regina Harvey. My brother, Dale McKnight. My whole family has been very helpful. Without family support, it would have never been possible to put on the events we have done.
