Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Fierce.
Michele, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey begins as an overworked and underpaid social media manager. In the crazy thing was I was my own boss then, as well. Lol. After being burned by a major client, I decided to refocus my energy back on my creative side. I’ve always been a mini social butterfly but to top it off I loved decorating and planning events. So, I started coordinating events decorating & styling for events as well. Which lead me to more elaborate event design like event staging and flower wall backdrops. (Lemonade Concepts link) I’ve always had a passion for decorating in styling & especially event planning! I love the concept of turning a blank space into a masterpiece with just the slightest glam touches.
The Journey of Lemonade Lounge started from me wanting to expand more with my talents as an event stylist and planner, a huge dream of mines was to have my very own event venue space. The crazy thing is before opening I found one of my old journals where I would plan out future goals and stuff and opening my events space was one of the number one goals I had listed repeatedly in my journal in literally a year later, we have open the doors to my first creative events lounge &co working space. As a single mom at the age of 24, I’m very grateful for event business, it’s given me the freedom and flexibility to work whenever I want & provide for my mini me’s and express myself creatively.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My journey has not always been easy especially being a young single mother of three, two of them who just happen to be twins (so, I’m sure you know my plate is stuffed). I think my biggest obstacle was & still is finding a healthy balance between work and family life. It can be hard especially as a single parent to be your own backbone. So, I am grateful for my parents who help me and support me with raising and caring for my children, and I am extremely grateful for the knowledge my dad has pour into me growing up as an entrepreneur himself, he as being the key source guidance and role model for me as a young entrepreneur.
