Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Barr.
Michelle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to McKinney, TX, in 2005, which for me was coming home. I had a lot in my life. I didn’t love, and I was really starting to connect with my Purpose and my Life’s Calling. I was on a real inner journey, and I made the decision I felt truly guided to make, to get rid of my license as a Therapist and open my own business doing the work I knew really worked. I didn’t know what exactly it would look like, but I started. In 2007, I opened a local Healing Center in my community and began seeing clients and teaching classes. I began getting asked to speak in front of groups and found I loved doing that. After realizing that instead of a business, I had created a very expensive hobby, I had to get serious about doing the work I am made to do so that I wouldn’t have to do anything else. In the middle of what they were saying was a huge recession in 2009, I opened my business in a space on the historic downtown square. I ended up on the Dallas Evening News for opening a new business when so many others were shutting theirs down.
A few years later, I built my business online and took it global, while maintaining a local office on the square. My business grew and evolved as I grew and evolved. I have not had to go back to a job and have not been employed by anyone else since 2006. I turned my mess into my message and began helping others turn their life’s calling into a profitable business they love. I traveled with the books I had written and spoke on many stages, both live and virtual. I had a radio show on the OmTimes Network. Twelve years later, I have a business as a Coach, Teacher, Speaker, Author, Psychic Medium and Healer. I have now returned to the Dallas area after being away for five years and am going to be establishing the headquarters for the Texas Institute of Mediumship and the Intuitive and Healing Arts right here in Dallas. I have traveled both nationally and internationally and now am creating a place for my students and clients and colleagues to come together to grow and evolve both personally and professionally. I offer these services both locally here in the Dallas area and online to a global community.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I started my business following my Purpose and my Life’s Calling, and I did not make good business decisions. I am a community builder, and I built a strong community and provided them with support, guidance, healing, and transformation, but I also created a financial disaster for myself and my family. I had to make a decision that I was going to have a business and be in business. I learned how to build and grow my Spiritual Business, and then others began to ask me to help them do the same. That has turned into a thriving global business. I went from not being good with money and business at all to being sought after as a Spiritual Business Expert, speaking on stages about it and writing books about it. Building your own business is the most intensely personal and Spiritual growth and development program you could ever enroll in. This often surprises people and is a big part of what I help my clients with most. I make sure to always have the support and guidance and training I need to do my work in the world and help my clients get out into the world with their work.

I am uniquely equipped for the work I do because of my gifts, skills, experiences, and abilities. I work with my Clients, intuitively, energetically, and strategically. I teach and train people in solid business strategy while helping them grow and evolve into the people they need to become to answer their calling and do their work in the world. It is both The Marketing to Make It Work and The Mindset to Make It Happen. I bring all of myself to the table when working with my clients. I have been a Personal Transformation Specialist for over 25 years. I am a Business Coach, a Mindset Mentor, Author, Speaker, Teacher, Psychic Medium and Master Healer. I have developed a unique approach that has worked now for hundreds of my clients and students. I teach them to build a Personality Brand. I help them get their books written and create their signature talks. I help them use social media. I help them build the container that they can pour their magic into. My Clients have so many amazing gifts, and I work with them to get themselves and their gifts out into the world.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have built a Personality Brand sooner. I would have built a community following sooner. I would have treated my business like a business and been seriously committed to my business’ financial health as well as the work I was doing. I would have understood the difference in having a clear message, a clear offer, and a clear path to bring your clients to you. Now, I am pursued rather than pursuing it.
