Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Holyfield.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After leaving a violent marriage in California in 2008, I relocated to Texas and started my 1st business called DFW Metroplex Mobile Notary. I worked for Corporate America but needed more as a single mother raising my children with no support. In 2011,
I met my now-husband and we discussed creating a family business that we could both be a part of. So, in 2015, we started Holyfield’s Commercial Cleaning that then turned into Holyfield’s Cleaning & Lawn Services within the 1st month due to the demand from our customers. As profits continued to come in, we would invest back into our company to purchase more equipment & supplies which allowed us to add more services to offer to our customers. We refused to accept any loans offers & accepted all the training that has been offered to help our company excel & succeed. Here we are four years later, still striving & holding strong, ready to take Holyfield’s Cleaning & Lawn Services to the next level.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t always been smooth. By making the choice to declined loan offers, we have had to work extra hard & sacrifice quite a bit of time. If we took the easy way out & accepted the loans, we would probably be further ahead but we would also have tons of debt. Taking our profits & investing right back into our company has allowed us to remain debt-free. So, not only is HCLS still successful after four years, but we also don’t have any debt.
Being Owner/Operator, I have had to work in the field then come home to manage the invoicing, scheduling, marketing and whatever else was needed to manage the business. Not to mention still trying to manage my wife & mother duties. There are plenty of sleepless nights.

HCLS is Bonded & Insured in the state of Texas and has serviced the DFW & surrounding cities since 2015.
I am most proud that we started with limited resources in 2015 & have excelled to the company we are today. Most small businesses don’t make it past the 1st 1-2yrs & here we are more established than we have ever been with new opportunities & expectations to grow even bigger.
Having the ability to complete both interior & exterior services sets us apart from the competition. We are a 1 Stop Shop!

My biggest cheerleaders would have to be my husband Toriano & my children. I thank God for all of the continued guidance, strength & Grace. Even when I would have thoughts of doubt or discouragement, they would be right there to push me along. Managing your own business can be very overwhelming at times but having the right support system in your corner will have you on the road to success.
