Mikala, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
KemariGLO first started out as a passion for helping my daughter find a natural way to combat her eczema and get rid of all the prescriptions. After hours of intense research, I finally found something that worked and gave me the impetus to turn hard work and inspiration into a booming online store. I now serve customers all over, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the ever-evolving personal care industry.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not! Lol I think all businesses hit rough patches here and there, but I think it’s all in what you make it. If your business is your passion no matter what obstacles you come across nothing should deter you from your vision. The challenges that I faced were fear of failing. Sometimes you can be your own worse enemy without even realizing it. I would push back launch dates because I was so fearful of what others would think, until one day I had to look myself in the mirror and say “Girl,God gave you this vision for a reason. This is your time to shine.”
Please tell us about your business.
Kemari GLO is a faith based personal care business that promotes a healthy GLO, not just on the outside, but on the inside too. Matthew 5:16 tells us -“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds, moral excellence, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” That really resonates with me. That is the foundation of my business, I love making the customer service experience one that will leave a lasting impression and make you want to come back, not only because our products are bomb but because I practice what my company represents. Kemari GLO is most known for body butters, men’s beard kit, and body scrubs. All of our products are natural. Here at Kemari GLO we pride ourselves on the ability to be diverse and have products that can fit into anybody’s daily routine. I think that’s what sets me apart from most companies, and also that I have the ability to make a product that is timeless. Your skin will be in pure Hydration heaven when you use our products.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I think the qualities or characteristics that I feel are most important to success is integrity, a willingness to learn and being persistent. When you are honest, people will believe in you & what your company represents. Willingness to learn is important because you always want to be a student of the game and continue to perfect your craft. I never want to stay complacent & im always looking for areas that I can develop in to help my company evolve. Things are forever changing and trends come and go so you have to understand these things in order to have consistent success and stay persistent.
