Meet Mike Farish of Ebby Halliday Realtors in Prosper and Celina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Farish.

Mike, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I moved to the USA from England at the age of 24 as a volunteer for a soccer charity for 18 months. Within this time I met my wife Amy, and upon getting married, I decided to pursue a career in Real Estate. I started in the business 4 1/2 Years ago and after selling only one home in nine months and with our first baby due to be born I was only three weeks from having to find another job. Luckily, I was introduced to Bruce Rayburn and his group at Ebby Halliday in Plano. Here I got great mentoring and true insight on how to work the business. Within my first two weeks, I had three properties under contract & multiple clients looking/selling. That year (2016) I sold $4 million in production. After another successful year I decided to take a leap of faith & try Real Estate on my own again. My family and I moved to Celina and I moved to the Ebby Halliday Prosper office. Since being here, my business has gone from strength to strength. This year will be my best year so far closing 2019 with $9 Million in sales. In 2020 I look & hope to exceed that number as well as look into expanding into a group.

Has it been a smooth road?
No. I struggled to get my business off the ground, as well as having our first baby, life was tough and stressful. Thankfully my business picked up, but it was not all plain sailing. After moving to Celina and a new office In 2017 I suffered with mental illness which prevented me from working at the level and speed I like to. With a stay at home wife, child, and another one on the way, this was by far my toughest test to pass, and luckily, over time, I came through.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
In the business, I am known for my upbeat and fun personality as well as being innovative & creative in marketing properties. I also love people and being around people & try to make the buying and selling process enjoyable instead of stressful. Real Estate is typically going to be the biggest transaction in someone’s life. That is something to celebrate, not worry about! Every year I host a big client appreciation event & give my clients the chance to win flights to England as a way to celebrate with everyone I have worked with.
My business goes far beyond the transaction. It’s about building trust, a relationship, & confidence with the people I meet. I want everyone that I work for to know that are great representation, but not only that, they are getting a true confidant who they can trust will listen, speak honestly & truthfully, and ultimately, be a true friend who only has their best interests at heart.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
DFW is a great place to start in Real Estate. There is a lot of opportunities with business and families relocating, and our market is one of the strongest in the nation.
