Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikel Bell.
Hi Mikel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey in medicine started while I was serving in the Navy as a Corpsman (combat medic) with the Marines. After serving 5 years and two deployments, I left the military to pursue my dream of becoming a physician. During my education, I had several experiences that led me to think about health and medicine in a more holistic way. I sought out many opportunities to learn about different health models. I studied osteopathy, integrative and functional medicine, as well as bread and butter western clinical medicine. It became my passion to help my patients find the root cause of their issues and help them to heal in the most natural way possible.
After my training, I began to practice integrative pain medicine and holistic wellness care. I was amazed at just how effective this approach is in helping a wide variety of problems… everything from chronic low back pain to autoimmune disease to hormone imbalances and everything in between. I have been blessed with developing the most incredible patient-doctor relationships and witnessing powerful health transformations. Over the last two years, I have begun to integrate aesthetic procedures into my practice. This approach has helped my patients to reflect outwardly the vibrant health that now radiates from within, allowing them to look and feel their most natural, youthful selves.
My greatest inspiration and support throughout my military service, education, and professional journey has been my wonderful wife of 19 years, Kasey Bell. She has been my rock, best friend, greatest confidant, and partner in learning the healing arts. She is also a healer; practicing reiki, yoga, and sound healing to facilitate internal transformations for her clients. Together we have 4 beautiful, happy, healthy children. I look forward to growing with and alongside her as we work together to build a healthy community and family.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a medical practice comes with many daily challenges. Not only do I do the doctor thing like seeing patients, charting, prescribing, authorizing, etc., but I must also think about and act on marketing, procuring vendors, managing staff and everything else that goes along with running a business. However, I have an amazingly supportive staff and family that makes everything so much easier. At the end of the day, the satisfaction that my patients have and the impact that my care has on their lives makes any difficulties I experience seem trivial.
We’ve been impressed with Vibrant Life Med Spa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I am constantly reading thanks largely to audible. My commuting schedule lets me listen to about a book per week. I mostly stick to non-fiction. I read a lot of medical books and other (non-medical) books by physicians that inspire me. Probably my all-time favorite that I return to several times per year and recommend to almost everyone I meet is “Letting Go” by David Hawkins, Md, PhD. It is a wonderful guide written by a psychiatrist on how to let go of more negatively directed emotions and to stop resisting the natural occurrence of uplifting emotions. This book has changed my life and many of those to whom I have recommended it.
