Meet Miku Sakamoto of The Sculpt Fairy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miku Sakamoto.

Hi Miku, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
For a while, I’ve wanted to get into the beauty industry, but wasn’t sure exactly in what specific field. I knew I wanted to work for myself. I knew I wanted to start my own business. One day, my friend posted a training for something called non-invasive body sculpting, which I’d never heard of before. Initially, it sounded too good to be true. Losing inches of fat in just one session without any downtime or pain? No way! But then I did my research and found out that it was legitimate. So, I went for it! I signed up for the training. A month later, I completed my training another month after that I had the keys to my very own business suite!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I am a first-time small business owner, so the learning curve has been steep. Besides sculpting, there’s obviously so much that goes into the business on the back end – social media and marketing, bookkeeping, inventory, etc. Having to figure it all out for a business has been quite the learning process but I am really enjoying it! As for business growth-wise, I am very grateful that The Sculpt Fairy has grown steadily and organically. When I started, I never would have imagined I would be at this point. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for The Sculpt Fairy!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I do non-invasive body sculpting to reduce stubborn fat, contour the body, and help people look and feel their best! I’m mainly known for lipo cavitation, radiofrequency skin tightening, and Hiemt Body Shape (a treatment where 30 minutes is equivalent to 20,000 sit-ups!). What sets me apart the most I would say is my brand! The Sculpt Fairy is not just a name – my whole entire business is fairy-themed! My room is decorated to transport you to a fairy world – it’s entirely pink, has light-up clouds and flower vines hanging from the ceiling, and has wings on the wall for my clients to take a picture with if they want! I like to make the experience unique and fun for the client. The room is created to be a relaxing escape, as I know this can be a vulnerable experience and I want my clients to feel safe and comfortable. Also, I believe that my clients are perfect the way they are and that we are just fine-tuning them. I really try to encourage self-love and instill that we are just enhancing what they already have. I don’t allow any negative self-talk from my clients! I want people to leave The Sculpt Fairy feeling confident and happy.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Now that I’m a business owner, I try to be a sponge – whenever I’m around any entrepreneur, fellow body sculptor, or anyone who I can learn from in any way, I try to absorb their wisdom and knowledge as much as possible. I’m very fortunate that I’m surrounded by inspiring and hardworking entrepreneurs who have helped me immensely along the way. And I’ve started to put myself out there as well by going to networking events. I’ve never been the type to go to events like that in the past because I’m shy in those settings, but you know what they say, fake it ’til you make it!
