Today we’d like to introduce you to Mina Irfan.
Mina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Born in Chicago to immigrant parents, I was taught early on the value of hard work and success. From the age of 18 to 28, I worked hard in earning my degree from Northwestern University and starting a successful Real Estate and construction business while raising my son as a single mother.
In 2008, I remarried and became a stay at home mother. I was in a new state, feeling a strong sense of identity loss from not working, expecting my second child when I lost my mother to cancer. Everything I knew as my identity was gone in a matter of months.
My mother’s sudden passing from her lack of self-care and boundaries in her life left me stunned and dazed. Longing for friendship and a sense of belonging, I created a YouTube channel to find other women to talk to. I was desperate for female connection and to share my mother’s story. Little did I know; my channel would end up being my greatest source of passion and develop into a mission to help women from all over the world.
Over the span of 7 years, my channel has captured my journey to motherhood, becoming debt-free, losing 70 lbs., curing an autoimmune disease with lifestyle changes, becoming millionaires, and launching a successful business where I have helped thousands of women reclaim their self-worth.
I couldn’t save my mother, but I have kept her legacy alive by helping thousands of women realize the importance of reclaiming their health, self-esteem, relationships, careers and more. All from the comfort of my home while raising my 3 beautiful children with my husband.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest struggle is facing your own insecurities and limiting beliefs. I coach women on how to overcome their negative self-talk and push through their limiting beliefs, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t encounter those roadblocks myself.
Those little nasty voices would pop up, and I had to face my own demons and push through. Doing the inner work and having the courage to share my story, failures and all, has been my greatest strength.

My company is called The Universe Guru and we provide Coaching services and online digital programs for women on a self-development journey. My programs are based on taking personal responsibility for your thoughts, actions, decisions, and becoming a self-aware, conscious, and embodied woman. I specialize in teaching women to develop an intentional lifestyle based on self-compassion, love, and healthy lifestyle choices. If you ask any member of my community what my brand is known for, you will get two answers: Self-Care and Gratitude.
I’m both proud and humbled by the thousands of positive emails and comments I receive from women from all over the world. Women from different backgrounds, nationalities, and age groups are united in my tribe providing love and support to each other. I wake up to so much love every single day, every day is a fantasy. It’s my own fairy tale. I feel what sets me apart is my story. I’m not some expert talking down on women, but a friend who has lived through it all with them. They have seen it all – literally before their eyes. One video at a time.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am just getting started! My husband and I just reached financial independence, which means that neither of us has to work ever again. That feeling of independence provides me with the security and flexibility to be creative and take amazing leaps forward.
We are planning on running retreats all over the world and bringing our online courses in person.
