Meet Mina Moshtaghi of One Preston Event Venues & Rentals in Gunter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mina Moshtaghi.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been the friend that planned fun group events for as long as I can remember. Whether it was a birthday, graduation, or just Taco Tuesday, I was always looking for a reason to bring people together to celebrate someone or something. In 2016, after being bridesmaid in my fourth wedding and attending half a dozen more, it seemed like wedding season was never going to end. So, when our family was thinking about ideas for a family business we could all be part of I said “why don’t we open a wedding chapel” and the idea grew from there. Fast forward a couple of years and we have a gorgeous White Chapel and not one but TWO stand-alone event venues and an event rental company.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
While the road was long, and sometimes seemed impossible, we not only overcame the many obstacles but learned, grew, and persevered to get to where we are today. Starting a new business definitely has a lot of challenges. We built our business from the ground up, which means every property feature on our almost 13 acres including our ponds, greenspaces, multiple buildings, parking lots and everything else was designed, built, and executed by us. We learned as we went and supported each other throughout the process. Having the support of family has been critical for us, and our employees who’ve become family have been our saving grace.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the One Preston Event Venues & Rentals story. Tell us more about the business.
At One Preston Event Venues & Rentals we offer services for any and all things event-related. We have two stand-alone venues for events of all sizes. Our Victorian Estate accommodates up to 100 people seated for smaller events such as engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, birthdays, corporate events, or intimate weddings. Our Carriage House accommodates up to 300 people seated which is perfect for larger events such as corporate parties, weddings, galas, fundraisers and more.

I’m proud of so many things we’ve accomplished as a team in just over one year of operation. Our specialty is people. We love our clients, we love working with them over months and years to help plan and execute their events. Spending so much time with our clients, they often become family and we couldn’t be prouder to be able to be a part of their most special day. We’re constantly finding ways to serve our clients better and provide exceptional service. We’ve also been blessed with the best team and the best vendor partners in the industry that help us create these one of a kind events.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Some may call it luck, I would call it hard work. We’ve seen tremendous success over the last 18 months of operation and that success is attributed to a couple of things; hard work, consistency, flexibility. Our team truly loves what they do, they love our clients, and they love being part of our family.
