Today we’d like to introduce you to Mirna Ayoub and Ricky Gonzalez of The Creative Snobs.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
What started as a hobby grew into something unimaginable. We are just so excited to be where we are today and keep getting clients that in a million years we would not have even thought we can work with. Mirna, who just bought a Cricut in 2019 started just dabbling into making decals, shirts, and other printing when she met Ricky who was the graphic design guru. I, Mirna, started using Ricky to help me design a few things and from there we worked together so well that we thought we can really be set apart from others. Jump to 2021 we are now working with clients like Lisa’s Chicken, Pop Zero Popcorn, and a whole bunch of entrepreneurs who are just starting out. With us, we care about every single client, whether you are a very new small business to a very well-known bigger corporations. We want to make sure that whatever we are designing that the client is 100% happy with their design.
We are so honored that our clients choose us every day! They are our building stones to where we are! Without them, we would not be where we are today.
Building this business was not easy. We wanted to quit so many times and close down shop but every time we would think of doing so, another big client would fall into our laps. We decided to work through differences that both partners had and put our brains together to learn and understand how to work as one and how to grow the business together. Being in a partnership takes time and most definitely communication! It is like a marriage but a profiting marriage! Learning each other and understanding what pain points each partner has helped align us to work together.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been an easy road. Being a business owner in general is HARD. You will endure struggles and obstacles along every turn, but the great thing about it is you learn every day and you never stop learning!
For us, it was how to differentiate ourselves from our competitors and how we can stay 100% focused on our clients.
Never give up! That is by far the biggest thing we would tell any entrepreneur that wants to start their own business. It is hard, building your own business takes time and a whole lot of patience and comes with a lot of hardships but the end results are way worth it.
You never stop learning and when you think you know it all is when it is time to grow farther. You have to keep yourself humble to learn more. Always watch others and understand why they are succeeding and learn from it. We never take anyone as competition as we believe there is a lot of business for every one of us to grow!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are graphic designers and printers. What sets us apart is our creative skills. Our team of designers are all very knowledgeable and each has a unique taste. We try to make our designs very tailored to every one of our clients.
What separates us from our competitors is our customer service. We are 100% for our clients, we want to see them succeed in every single way. Not only do we have fast turnaround and quality work, we also advertise for our clients when needed. We have a pool of businesses that we shoutout to anyone in need.
We specialize in branding. This means logos, business cards, window graphics, decals, shirts, flyers and so much more!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Being young! Being able to not have technology take over our lives. Being able to go outside with friends and watch grass grow, haha. Not literally, but you get the idea! Life was different back then, we were kids, we did stuff that kids nowadays wouldn’t want to do. Being young in the ’90s was a glorious thing.
