Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Gonzalez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Monica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Born and raised in Monterrey, MX I moved to the US to attend college at SMU. I decided to major in Marketing and that’s where my story begins. I co-owned two businesses prior to launching my own creative and digital marketing agency, Blu Creative.
Currently, we have our HQ in Dallas and two more offices, one in Monterrey, MX and the other one in Austin, TX. We are a close-knit group of creative entrepreneurs with a passion for building brands and everything marketing-related. We love to play the marketing arm of our favorite brands and identify ourselves as a critical team player in our clients’ businesses.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I do not believe the road to being a business owner is ever a smooth one. There will always be challenges that must be faced to achieve success. Personally, I’ve struggled with gender equality, my Hispanic ethnicity and the worse one yet, people thinking I’m too young and/or inexperienced to trust me with their brand until proven otherwise. But overcoming these challenges is the sweetest thing. It makes it all worth it and if I had to do it all over again, I would.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Blu Creative Agency – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Blu Creative specialized in two, call it “departments,” creative and digital. The creative department is responsible for creating strategic and innovative work that stands out from all the noise out there. Anything from brand building, graphic design, web design, video and/or photography will be produced by the creative team. The digital department will take these assets and decide how will these be distributed across all digital platforms to reach its ideal and highest converting target audience. The digital marketing team, in essence, is responsible for making the creative work convert at the lowest cost possible.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
In 2020, we’ll be launching established Mexican brands in the US. This is personally exciting for me because, in a way, I feel like I’m helping my people while contributing to the Mexico/US economic relationship.
