Meet Monica Torres of Momminalatte-Lifestyle Blog in Grand Prairie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Torres.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Monica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always have been I guess what you can call a “creative.” I was always very artsy, creating crafts and performing shows for my family in our living room. I’ve always had a passion for being artistic. As I grew up and became a mom, teacher, and wife, I wanted to be able to continue to share that creativity with others. So that’s when I decided to start my personal blog and Instagram page almost two years ago. I share all things lifestyle from planning a party to decorating an area in my home to tips on motherhood. I also include my daily struggles, shopping deals, places to eat, adventures with my kiddos, tips on travel, etc. My blog and Instagram page are not just a place to share my lifestyle but to connect with women all over the world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Oh, it has been far from smooth. I went back to college to pursue my degree in bilingual education when I became a mother. My daughter was my motivation to go back and finish my degree. Through that journey, I had my second baby, my son. I worked full time throughout college, so I definitely had my days where I wanted to give up. But I’ve always been the type of person that likes to stay busy and productive. So we’ve all had struggles, but I feel like my biggest struggle now is balancing work, motherhood, being a wife, and managing a blog. Oh, and did I mention also having a social life? (LOL) I think this is one of the other reasons that make me relatable because my struggles are the same of so many others. Sometimes opening up about those struggles on my social media platforms can also be a challenge. Being vulnerable and opening up like that to basically complete strangers sometimes doesn’t come easy for me at all. What I have learned through these struggles though is to just be true to yourself and do what makes you happy.

Please tell us about Momminalatte-Lifestyle Blog.
To be honest, I think just being genuinely myself is what sets me apart. Sharing my take on motherhood while also being a full-time teacher and wife is something I proud myself in. It has not been an easy journey and there are some days that I feel like I’m drowning in to-do lists, but the feeling you get when you cross everything off that list at the end of the day is amazing. I’ve had so many people ask me how I do it. How do I juggle it all? It takes a village really. It would be impossible to do it all my by myself. My family is definitely my motivation and my biggest support system.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I think if anything, I would learn to just let go of the fear and self-doubt and just go for it. I feel at times in setting goals for myself I am a little hesitant. I am scared of failing. Scared of what others might think. Scared of the unknown. But again, I think goals and dreams are meant to scare you a little. I think the most important is to work through that fear and self-doubt and to not let it ever keep you from reaching your goals.
