Meet Ms. Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ms. Dallas.

Hi Ms. Dallas, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a sports family, my whole life was centered around the basketball, which helped me to earn a Division 1 scholarship to Missouri State University, where I spent a year and then I transferred to the University of New Mexico. After awhile, I lost my sense of belonging and realized I hadn’t really developed a passion for anything other than basketball. A close friend suggested I pursue a professional apartment leasing position and that was the beginning of my love for real estate. The rewarding feeling of helping someone find their home ignited a fire in me and pushed me to get my real estate license. Networking is at the heart of real estate and that came very naturally to me. Some folks describe me as a Dallas “socialite” but knowing the right people and being known in Dallas has opened many doors for me as a realtor. I am a Dallas native and I love my city! I can be found enjoying our many restaurants, bar openings, local clubs and speakeasies. I was dubbed “Ms. Dallas” by a friend and it just sort of stuck, it has become my personal “brand.” Ideally, I’d love to use it to give my followers a sneak peek of what the city has to offer from both a nightlife and residential perspective!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest challenge has been finding out what I really love to do in life and discovering my divine purpose. I have concluded that what you love to do is your divine purpose regardless of what the monetary return. Real estate has allowed me to express my love for people and has given me the ability to help others. Another challenge for me was falling into the social media trap of comparing my life with others which made me feel like I was not measuring up and somehow being left behind. It actually created anxiety as I always felt like I needed to change my direction, do more and even to reinvent myself in some way but I have now learned better and have found strength in who I am and what I love to do. I believe being authentic and original is what makes us unique from the other 7.5 billion people on the planet. I’ve learned being true to ourself is what makes us all individually most valuable.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a realtor specializing in the DFW area. Dallas has a heavy renters market which has been my bread and butter. I have been capitalizing off of apartment locating through my company Luxury Locations. Luxury Locations offers clients an exclusive list of apartment deals in their desired area, plus a 2 hour free move and a luxury move-in gift. All our renters have to do is remember to list Luxury Locations on rental applications as their referral source. I am most proud of the relationships I’ve developed with the people here in Dallas and how helping them find their homes has just naturally fed my thriving business. It has been extremely rewarding to watch the business I built on my own develop into a brand that can compete at the highest levels. I think what sets us apart from other locators is my deeply rooted knowledge and love that I have for the city of Dallas. My clients know what to expect from my business and I am fiercely protective of the great reputation we have established. I believe that our consistent focus on our clients’ experiences, throughout the course of every real estate transaction, is our “secret sauce.” It’s not easy, but its worth it and our client’s tell us so through referrals.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a tomboy. I played basketball since the age of five and I absolutely loved the sport. I would like to believe I have grown tremendously since my early years. I was very outspoken, fearless and had no filter, which wasn’t always the best combination! I was the only freshman playing on the varsity basketball and became team captain by my junior and senior years in high school. I learned a lot from being constantly surrounded by girls who were older than me. Growing up, I was always taught to hold myself to the highest standard regardless of the people around me. People would describe as a natural-born leader and I was often given the responsibility to do so. I found that challenging growing up because I didn’t want the pressure and responsibility of leading but rather wanted to do what my peers were doing without consequence. I later discovered that my talents are a waste if I don’t utilize my own natural gifts and accept the responsibilities it comes with them. Overall my childhood was beautiful and tremendously blessed with the support of my family and friends. I wouldn’t change a thing!
