Today we’d like to introduce you to Myisha Hayes.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Myisha. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Professionally, I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I have been a clinician in multiple settings for nine years working in DFW and surrounding areas as well as travel contracting in the state of California. I have been working with young ladies for over 17 years in capacities of a mentor, church ministry, dance coach and cheerleader coach. I have also served as a chairperson for my sorority’s, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, graduate chapter Delta G.E.M.S. Youth Initiative. Working with young women has been a passion of mine. I was blessed with a tribe of women who individually poured into my life to help shape me into the woman I am today. Starting Affirming Her, Girls Mentoring Program, was something I knew I had to do as a servant and wanted to do for a long time.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The challenges with initiating the program have been securing the participants and finding schools that will let me service their young ladies.
Please tell us about Affirming Her – what should we know?
Affirming Her, Girls Mentoring Program to aspiring young women to be the best version of herself while fostering self-identity and self-love. My program targets young women grades 9th-12th because those are the crucial years in developing the foundation of who you are becoming as a woman personally and professionally.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I am empathetic, passionate, down-to-earth, witty, relatable, caring and I am always striving to make myself and the people around me better.
