Meet Natalie Casey of Casey Media Productions in McKinney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Casey.

Natalie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve had a camera in one hand and a microphone in the other since I can remember. With a love for music and film I began my own YouTube series called “The Natalie Gore Show” (my maiden name). This highlighted my adventures playing shows and singing the National Anthem across Texas and Oklahoma for the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association and as the FCD TV host for FC Dallas, a major league soccer team.

With a degree in MultiMedia Production and experience working on two feature films, I was then hired at Trinity Broadcast Network. At TBN I had the opportunity to wear several hats! I was a camera operator, photographer, host, social media marketer, video editor, and eventually assistant director for multiple live television shows. It truly was a turning point in my career and I was able to get my hands on so many different aspects of production.

A few years later I decided to make the move to a different aspect of media which involved website marketing, social media, and sales at a company called Bullseye Media. I had no idea that these were some of the most valuable skills I would need to own my own company one day! I had intense training in sales and Search Engine Optimization for online marketing all while still making videos for clients.

My husband James and I were married in the fall of 2015 and by January 2016 we had decided that this was the perfect time for me to take the leap of faith and to start Casey Media Productions full time. Our team of skilled videographers and editors film events, weddings, concerts, and more! It has been one of the most rewarding career moves I have made and now that I recently had my daughter, it gives me the opportunity to work from home and have more time with her. It’s such a blessing to be able to say that I get to do what I love every single day!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I am a firm believer in whatever job you are doing, do it well, with a smile on your face, and don’t be afraid to start anywhere. No matter where that is.

I have had to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for an entire feature film production crew. Every single day. For two weeks. But on that same film, I ended up co-writing a song that was in the movie. Instead of being the lead singer like I was used to, I coiled cable for a year behind a camera on stage. I’ve done so many jobs that no body else wanted to do, but because I did them, it leads to huge opportunities. For instance, I started out at TBN as a data entry worker, then worked my way to receptionist, and eventually made my way into production! Never be afraid to do a job that no one else wants to do!

On a personal note, about six months into our first year of Casey Media Productions, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 2B Hodgkins Lymphoma. This was discovered right as I had just found out I was pregnant and we were in full swing of Wedding Season. So for the first half of 2016 my husband was filming weddings while he had cancer and we didn’t even know it! He then went through chemotherapy and radiation treatment while I was pregnant with our daughter. Had I not decided to start my own company, there is NO way I would have been able to go with him to almost every single treatment and still keep up with a job. He is now cancer free as of April 2017! It truly was the best decision we could have made and at the right time!

Casey Media Productions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Casey Media Productions is primarily known for our wedding videography! However, we specialize in all events, concerts, conventions, media, etc. I also do several video editing projects for other clients and have had the opportunity to edit videos for Kendra Scott, John Wooden, Peter Diamandis, John Addison, and Success Partners.

What I am most proud of as a company is the videos that we return to clients. Spending the day capturing someone’s wedding so that they can relive that special day over and over is not something I take lightly. You know why? Because I’ve been there! And I relive my own wedding! I want others to be able to look back on their wedding or event and say, “What a great day this was! It’s like I got to be there all over again!” I want our videos to be something they are proud of and can bring back the memories of their special day.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is being able to do what I love and make a contribution to my family doing it.

I’m always striving for more, but as long as my family we’re happy, healthy, and can bring joy to others while we work hard to do what we love, to me that is success.
