Meet Natalie Gloria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Gloria.  

Hi Natalie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
For many years I dealt with mental and physical issues that affected my happiness and health. I was constantly burned out, unfocused, and uncomfortable with myself; therefore, I decided that it was time to make a change in my life and begin my wellness journey. For me, a wellness journey is about re-healing and reconnecting with your mind and body. My personal goal was to build a better relationship with food, exercise, and myself. I created my Instagram account to have it as a private diary. Once I was in a better physical and mental state in my journey, I began publicly posting about how I live a healthy lifestyle and pictures of nourishing meals on my page with short but meaningful captions about self-love and self-care. My intention with these types of posts is to inspire others to live a healthy life and remind them that there is no right or wrong way to do wellness. If you told my past self where I am right now, I would not have believed you. My Instagram page grew when I started being myself and more transparent with my wellness journey to my followers. Although I am physically and mentally better, a wellness journey is not all highs. There are bumps on the road, but those low times help us grow and learn. It has been quite a journey, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could say it has been a smooth road, but the truth is, there have been times I find myself lost and uninspired to post or be active on Instagram. Since I am a lifestyle wellness content creator, I bump into unhealthy diet and lifestyle trends or constantly compare my journey to someone else’s. I love to post aesthetically pleasing content, and I sometimes feel the pressure to live an insta wellness life, but then I remember that social media is a highlight reel. People only show on Instagram when they thrive in life or what they believe is “insta worthy.” So, when I feel uncomfortable with myself or go back to unhealthy habits, I take a short break from Instagram or limit the time I scroll through the app. The Instagram health community has become a second home for me, and I want to continue to remind others to take care of their well-being, but I cannot do that if I don’t do it for myself first. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Instagram influencer. On my account, I share my passion for food and wellness and how I live a healthy life. One fun fact about me is that I am an oatmeal and coffee addict. I love fueling my body with whole foods that make me feel energized and nourished. Although eating healthy is something I focus on, I like to eat out every now and then, especially for brunch or Mexican food, because balance is very important when building a healthier lifestyle. I am mainly recognized for my aesthetically pleasing pictures and oatmeal bowls. What I find heartwarming about being part of this social media wellness foodie community is how much love, support, and respect we give each. Being part of this community has allowed me to help others with their health journey and for me to continue to better myself. I believe living a healthy lifestyle does not have to be luxurious and complicated; it is about making choices that better your health. Everyone’s wellness journey will look different because we all have our own goals and intentions. I hope to continue to inspire and remind others that a wellness journey should help one feel healthy and happy.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
One fascinating lesson I learned from the Covid-19 Crisis is how much happiness you can find when you surround yourself with the people you love and care for. Although lockdown may have been overwhelming and stressful, I never felt stuck, lost, or lonely because the company of my family truly helped me get through this difficult time.
