Growing up I struggled with self-confidence. I had frizzy curly hair and braces. I always felt awkward in my own skin. Soon, I started to experiment with makeup. I read every teen magazine and practice every “pro-tip”. Eventually I realized what I lacked I couldn’t fix with makeup or magazine tutorials. I needed to love learn to love myself, just the way I am. So began my long journey of self-love and confidence building.
Along the way, I discovered I wasn’t the only person dealing with the same issues. It was actually more common than I thought. Self-love was hard for many. I decided at that point that I wanted to combine my passion for makeup with my desire to spread the importance of self-love! Thus Natalie Ann Cosmetics was born.
I started using my social media platforms to feature my liquid matte lipsticks on people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Male or female, no one was excluded. Eventually, more and more people started wanting to know more about me and my brand. I began getting inquiries asking “Who is Natalie Ann?” This curiosity helped not only grow my makeup brand but it helped spread my message of self-love.
I am now in the process of expanding from just liquid matte lipsticks to other products as well!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been an easy road. The beauty industry is a tough market to break into. There is tons of competition. Making a name for myself took time. Convincing makeup lovers that my lipsticks were worth a try was a challenge. In an industry saturated with celebrity names and already established brands, it was hard for me to stick out. I am just a girl from Texas!
The more I told my story, the more women could relate. I think because I have always been so open and honest about my struggles with loving myself in my own skin, it made it easier for me to grow my brand.

Natalie Ann Cosmetics is a beauty company that is known for our long-wear, comfortable liquid matte lipsticks. Because of the love we have received for our lipsticks, we are currently in the process of expanding our line of beauty products!
As the brand grows and my message of self-love begins to spread, I find myself talking to people all over the world who love my story and can relate in their own way. I always make sure to respond to anyone who takes time out of their day to message me their story or tell me how my story made them feel. That is why I started the brand- so women all over the world know they aren’t alone in their struggles. So they know it’s actually normal to not walk around looking like they are a flawless, edited Instagram picture everyday.
The more I talk to people and get my story out there, the larger my customer base grows! We originally only shipped in Texas. Then we started getting inquiries from other states, so we expanded to the whole U.S. Then several months ago, I received multiple inquiries from the U.K! I was beyond shocked that my message and brand had spread that far, but because of the love from overseas, we now ship world-wide!! Some of my most loyal supporters actually reside overseas! How crazy is that? I think this is what I am most proud of. I am proud that my decision to open up about my struggles with self-love and confidence have connected with people all over the world.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was an awkward kid. I usually stayed in the background because my lack of confidence made everything hard for me. I was teased a lot in elementary school for my frizzy hair and crooked teeth. But I eventually grew out of it. Reading played in big part in that. I was a huge bookworm. I read anything and everything. My favorite were teen magazines. I absorbed every beauty tip and makeup trick I could find!
