Meet Natasha Khan of Lure Salon in Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Khan.

Natasha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It started with Barbie Dolls, scissors and a bottle of Clairol under my mom’s bathroom sink. It’s not that I necessarily chose hair. It chose me. I’ve had a creative passion for it ever since I was 6 and fell in love with everything about it. After high school, I went to UTSA, however, something doesn’t feel right. I decided to check out a couple of cosmetology schools and instantly had this epiphany I was exactly where I needed to be. I enrolled immediately and started my career at Osgood Oneil where I had some great mentors. I taught color and traveled all over the U.S. and Europe and fed my brain as much as I could. The education is endless. After a decade of doing so, I wanted to create a wonderful place of my own for other hairdressers that shared the same passion and wanted to grow their business while working in a humble, high-end salon. After collaborating with a friend and business partner, Yvonne Hager, we decided to open up our own place called: Lure Salon.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are and always will be obstacles. I’ve learned a great deal during this process. I love hairdressers but we’re all a little crazy. Hahaaaa! I believe that it’s our perception that can affect how we decide to react and respond. My personal challenge is juggling my work and home life now. I make sure to make time to go to my children’s events as well as tending to my clients. It’s a balancing act for sure! Have fun and laugh!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Lure salon was created to help fellow hairdressers grow in their craft through education as well as with customer service. We have an extremely talented team that are true artists. They each have a gift. We are proud to be a “green” salon. We recycle all our paper, foil and plastic with the help of Green Circle. We focus on using organic products that have the least amount of chemicals for our clientele. Yvonne and I have been through many hardships and pushed through every time and I’m proud of what we have accomplished so far.

I specialize in hair color and my priority is to achieve beautiful results while maintaining the integrity of the hair. Most people may notice what someone is wearing when they walk into a room. I notice the hair.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The qualities of my success I feel are the 3 C’s… continued education, consistency and customer service.

I am extremely grateful for every opportunity and experience I’ve been given. God, family, and love. I make it a choice daily to look at the silver lining whatever comes my way. It all has molded me into who I am today.
