Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Paul.
Nathan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have always done photography, but it was more like photojournalism or just playing around shooting outdoors things. I started learning different techniques through different photographers who help lay down the foundation. (Eric Ganison, Jarriel Jones).
My first break was doing a test shoot for a model agencies, and they ended up booking me to shoot more of the male models. Soon publications starting reaching out to me, I end up doing a small showing at the Dallas Raw Show. Things just really happen fast who can say.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road and still crosses some difficult times. It is hard trying to book clients or get recognized in a world where there are photographers who have been in the business 20 plus years. However, I know my strength and just build on them and continue to grow as a photographer.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
As a photographer, I specialize in fashion, fitness, commercial (actor headshot). In the beginning of my photography career, I was known for my artistic nudes and fitness, which I just happen to be good at, however, fashion photographer is what I love.
What sets me apart from others? When working with people, I like to create an experience, not just do the shoot and send an invoice, but make them feel important.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and the least?
What I like about our great city of Dallas is that it is a progressive city, especially for fashion.
My dislikes is that Dallas is still a very reserve city in some ways.
