Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Mueller.
Nick, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got into music when I was 12 or so, just listening to it and exploring the different genres. When I was 17, I was given an opportunity to “manage” an R&B artist, and by manage I mean just be around the studio. I would send emails and random notes to people/companies that I thought looked cool. Once a few things happened and we parted ways, I began working with a multi-genre artist named Adrian Stresow. I’m just over 20 now, and we have been working for just about a year. I’m not anywhere close to where I’ll be in 10 years, but I’ve put my head down and worked through the years to get to where I am today. Being genuine with people has gone the furthest and has helped establish some amazing relationships. I am very grateful to be in this position.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, but I’ve never let anything stop me or even really slow me down. Being so young and pursuing the same industry that someone in their 30’s is also pursuing definitely brings a lot of challenges. Another challenge has been that most people don’t support/understand what I do. Being told things are impossible or not for me has been hard to understand at times, but at the same time I know my worth so I have to work mentally everyday to not let those words affect me or my team. I have a tight group of friends/family that support me and know where things are headed.
Please tell us about Entertainment Management.
My business is entertainment management. I currently work with Adrian, Zack (Content Creation), and I am looking into expanding into the EDM world depending on a few things. I essentially work to make their job as easy as possible. I strive to make sure that all they have to focus on is making the content. I don’t really think I’m known for anything, maybe for being “the kid from school who does the music thing” but that would be it. I think what sets me and my team apart from others is that we have a superior hunger within us that allows us to kick down doors. If we want something, we are going to do everything in our power to make it happen. Also, I can proudly say that we are some of the most genuine people in this industry. We want the best for everyone and we want EVERYONE to win in their own ways.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Traveling to CA, MI, and Canada for all of the hockey tournaments I played in.
