Meet Nick Runyon of CV Outreach in McKinney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Runyon.

Nick, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I began my career with PrintingforLess.com, where I rose from a customer service role to director of marketing in three years. I created a performance-based advertising strategy that helped PFL become a four-time INC 500 winner as one of the fastest growing companies in America.

In 2008, I joined Global Media Outreach as a chief operating officer, where I was able to apply the skills I learned at PFL to ministry. I developed a global outreach strategy and technology processes that aided GMO in reaching over 1.2 billion individuals with the Gospel.

Today, I am executive director of CV Outreach, an organization that empowers churches to intersect with individuals through digital technology. I lead a passionate team in leveraging social media, Google Adwords and other tools to touch people with the Gospel.

I am also the co-host of Social Media Church podcast, which provides practical information to church leaders on how to leverage digital tools in ministry.

Has it been a smooth road?
Any career path worth pursuing has bumps along the way, and mine has been no exception. One of the biggest challenges I face is helping Christian leaders recognize the value in digital technology. Google, Facebook, and other social media platforms have changed our world and taken evangelism with it. While it can be challenging to explain ever-changing technology to pastors, it’s rewarding to see them utilize these tools to make real connections with hurting individuals.

CV Outreach seeks to empower pastors and church leaders to utilize social media and digital advertising to intersect with individuals who are far from God, and we primarily use programs to do this. Through the Google Adwords program, we help churches take advantage of Google for Nonprofits, which provides up to $10,000 a month in free Adwords to qualifying 501c (3) organizations, including churches. Our Google Certified Reps help create and optimize churches’ ad campaigns to target individuals who are searching for answers to life’s toughest questions.

Additionally, we offer the Social Partners program, which provides free, unbranded images and videos to church social media managers. The content can be posted natively to the church’s social platforms and provides a high-quality message to seekers in the church’s community

We are excited when we see real connections being made between pastors and individuals who turned to Google or social media for help with a real-life problem.
