Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Meso.
Hi Nicole, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
It all began when the pandemic started, back in 2020. I was scrolling through TikTok and I found a creator. This creator was @wisdm8. I got inspired by his incredible styles and outfits that made me get into fashion. I started with experimenting different pieces of clothing, all while in the pandemic, out of boredom. When I started getting into fashion, I was more into unique type of clothing pieces. I wanted to look very similar to @wisdm8. I later found out that was not my style. My next step was to try streetwear and I fell in love with it. Throughout the year, I got better and better at styling my outfits. I’ve definitely improved since 2020. I’ve gotten more creative with my outfits, while still incorporating streetwear.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are definitely ups and downs in everything. Specifically, with fashion, there’s more ups than downs. One of the pros of being a fashion influencer is being your own boss. You can create your own schedule and you’re not working under someone. The cons of being part of this industry is, it takes time. You have to work hard and be consistent to see results.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently, I am a fashion influencer and model. I’ve modeled for well-known brands. I’m mostly known on Instagram for my outfits. Being a young black girl in the fashion industry is definitely something I’m extremely proud of. I hope to inspire and influence other young black girls. I want other black women to look at me and get inspired. I want people to know anything is possible and whatever you put your mind to you can become. Just me being a very young black girl sets me apart from the rest. A lot of people I know my age aren’t doing what I’m doing. I’m currently in the process of getting into acting. As I continue this journey I would love to be known as a model and actress!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I don’t really have any dislikes for my city. I haven’t really explored enough of my city to know what I love about it but if I had to say one thing I loved, it would be the city at night. The scenery is beautiful.
