Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Webb.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story really started with a simple desire to capture the moments that mattered most to me and my family as we healed from the loss of my husband about 6 years ago. During this healing journey I created a bucket list and started capturing my adventures. I found a love of documenting my family and friends and our experiences, whether it was a quick weekend adventure or a big family trip through my YouTube channel (2 Tears in a Bucket List). Eventually, I realized that the things that I was sharing, and the memories we were making, and even the challenges along the way were the kinds of things other people might connect with too. Many people began to comment on how they loved my pictures, and that is when I decided to finally purchase my first camera.
My family encouraged me to start my journey in photography more intentionally. What began as casual videos, pictures, and posts slowly grew into a business where I could blend storytelling, lifestyle, and beauty. I have found a passion for graduating seniors, and I created my first Senior and Junior team. We have been documenting their high school years with unique locations and posing. They will have many wonderful exciting experiences that will be a memory to cherish. Over time, I’ve learned how to show up consistently, refine my brand, through building community, and creating memories for others that feels meaningful to my clients.
.
Today, I’m still learning and evolving, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. What started as a personal project has turned into something that creates, and captures memories. And honestly, I’m excited to see where the journey takes me next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but it’s just a learning curve. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance real life with my business. As a full time educator I work about 10 hours a day, then come home to work my business until it’s time to go to bed. I find some days are harder than others, but I know if I stay consistent and work the business as I should I will see continued growth.
Another struggle was simply figuring everything out as I went — the technology, the editing, the consistency of my edits. Nothing about this came with a manual, so there were plenty of moments where I questioned whether I was doing it ‘right’. I do a lot of research and apply different techniques to fit my clients visions. Sometimes they turn out beautifully and sometimes not so much. I tell myself people don’t become successful overnight and they had to take chances to grow and learn.
There were also times when growth felt slow or unpredictable with my bookings, which can be discouraging when you’re putting in so much effort. But every challenge pushed me to refine my voice, improve my skills, and stay committed to why I started in the first place.
Looking back, those bumps in the road ended up being valuable lessons. They taught me patience, resilience, and how to create in a way that still feels authentic. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s definitely been worth it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In my work as a senior photographer, I specialize in creating portraits that feel unique, stylish, and personalized. My goal is always to capture who a senior really is at this moment in their life: their personality, their confidence, their passions, and the story they’re stepping into next.
I’m known for making my sessions feel relaxed and fun, even for teens who swear they’re ‘awkward in front of the camera.’ I focus on natural posing and authentic expression, and I love blending creative concepts with locations that reflect their unique style, whether that’s urban, editorial, athletic, artistic, or something totally unexpected.
What I’m most proud of is the experience I provide. Seniors and parents consistently tell me that the shoot felt easy, empowering, and unforgettable. It’s not just about taking pretty pictures; it’s about giving these young adults a moment to shine and see themselves in a new, confident way.
What sets me apart is the combination of my warm, upbeat approach and my attention to detail, from personalized styling guidance to creative direction to high-quality editing that stays true to the senior’s natural look. I make sure every session feels like a collaboration and every final image feels timeless.
At the end of the day, I’m honored to capture this milestone for families. Senior year is such a meaningful transition, and being able to freeze that moment in a way that feels both authentic and elevated is what I love most about what I do.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
There are a lot of apps I use to stay sharp, inspired, and balanced (both personally and professionally). Here are some of my favorites and why I like them:
Inspiration
Two of the biggest resources that help me do my best creatively are Instagram and Pinterest. I use them almost daily — not just for inspiration, but as tools to study trends, explore new ideas, and stay connected to what’s trending.
Education
YouTube has been another resource I have used over the last few years. I follow photographers, filmmakers, and educators who share everything from posing tips and lighting techniques to editing workflows and business advice. It’s like having a free masterclass at my fingertips.
Editing
Adobe Lightroom is one of the most important tools in my creative process. It’s where my images truly come to life. I use it not only for editing, but for organizing, and color grading.
Lightroom allows me to refine skin tones, enhance natural light, and bring out the personality and mood of each senior session. I also love using it to build and customize presets — it keeps my workflow fast, efficient, and cohesive across every gallery.
Marketing
Canva is another tool I rely on regularly. It helps me stay organized and polished on the business marketing side of my work. I use it to design everything from social media graphics and story templates to client guides, style boards, and promotional materials.
Professional
Pixieset is another resource I depend on to keep my workflow smooth and professional. It’s where I deliver all my galleries, and I love how clean, modern, and user-friendly it is for both me and my clients. The platform makes it easy for seniors and their families to download, share, and order prints, which creates a really seamless experience from start to finish.
These resources give real tools to apply on a daily basis to keep my business flowing smoothly.
