Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Choice.
Nikki, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was married at 19 with three daughters. I decided once I was married, I had to do all I can to make sure he’s happy the kids are as well. I have married a total of 17 years and for 13-14 of those years, I neglected me. I neglected me mentally, physically, emotionally, etc. I believed giving all of me was the answer not understanding that not caring for me first contributed to the chaos in my marriage. When I turned 30, I decided that I had to love myself first. It still took me an additional five years to begin to walk in Self Care. Once I got a grip on it, I could see that others around me were the same way. Pouring into their families, churches, friends, jobs and was just depleted at the end of the day and never poured into themselves. Once I stepped out of my fear, I put on my first event. It was intimate and amazing. It was such a positive experience for everyone involved and more than a month later people were still reaching out to me about my event. I’m dedicated to offering a judge-free space to be Selfish and not feel guilty.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been smooth, and I think that’s what allows my testimony to touch so many. Any goal and mission in life to get to the result there will be highs lows and in-betweens. All those struggles such as not enough funds to do what my vision is. Not as many people buying tickets to not having the attire desired helps me be as genuine as possible.

The Self Shop is my business. I create an environment of positivity, love, motivation, laughter and selfishness. I specialize in empowering women to start each day and end each day by pouring into themselves. I am most proud of the connections I’ve made in such a short time with amazing women that honestly, I’ve never had before. I’ve never had the best relationship with women but always longed to. I believe what sets my business apart is that I put on events for myself and in doing so I invite others on my journey. I’m nowhere near where I want to be in caring for myself. So, to me, I offer a form of Healthcare.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am looking forward to the final of this seven-part series. We will have a SELFISH WEEKEND in Florida. Have interactive workshops, live music, words of wisdom, food, after party, etc. I am also in the process of creating literature that will form a curriculum to offer to consumers. Ways to walk through the steps at your own pace and still be involved via website, YouTube, etc.
