Meet Nikki Shine-McBride

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Shine-McBride.

Hi Nikki, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today. 
Hi everyone, My name Nikki McBride. I’m an ordinary woman that love doing extraordinary things! I started at a very young age with a unique gift to imagine my future, not knowing the power I had that it will become my reality. I would actually create objects by using whatever I had access to at the moment. I have always love the art of designing, renovation, and custom home building. I’ll never forget hearing the stories of how my grandmother, Eulastine Burton, built her home in the early 1950s with her bare hands. While I saw my mother Lavornia create through storytelling, decor, and writing. When she had very little to work with.

Over the years, without realizing I had taken the baton they had, I started effortlessly serving others with my creativity and talent for interior design, renovation, and communications. Along with that, through the years, it was always a deep desire to actually go further by becoming a builder of my own home. My passion soon was reignited by our client many years ago, who we witnessed build their own custom home on a budget.

When my husband and I married over 26 years ago. Everything became complete that was already there inside. So, we intentionally together started to focus more on our purpose. Though we were gifted and had humble beginnings, like everyone else, we had our ups and downs. For years, we struggled to pay bills and make ends meet. However, our lives were transformed for the better after accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and applying biblical principles to our lives. We both begin to execute our talents intentionally as one walk in confidence and sharpen our skill set.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

No, the road was very bumpy, sometimes there was even pot holes. For many years, I definitely had many real-life struggles. Inwardly and outwardly. By growing up with no father figure and dealing with rejection along with life itself.

However, once I discovered that God was and is truly my Heavenly Father that cares about me. (Seriously) St. John 3:16

I was made free and my mindset was renewed. I started to realize the truth who God created me to be vs. the opinions of the world and culture I was born in. Then my spirit begin to change, and also my life.

Meanwhile I still had a lot of growing to do. I found out, although you may have a new mindset change. There are still obstacles and challenges you must face regarding succeeding in life and your future.

Because oftentimes when you discover what you love to do by serving others and are purpose to do.

There is a fight for your destiny and because  time is steady moving. We as humans still have the reality of the responsibility of life issues. Some circumstances we have no control of, as well as decisions, we’ve  made in the past, family issues, paying bills, and the list goes on…However, because most people are just trying to survive from day to day.

Many times we set our  purpose and dreams aside. Naturally as humans, we want to stay comfortable and we easily get distracted. So it seems to make more sense to just stop trying to dream big or get lost in working  a 9-5 to have a guarantee check (until they lay you off or fire you).

In the meantime, you’re building someone else’s dreams other than your own. Until you get that light bulb moment, it’s okay to help and work for others for a season.

However, the question is Lord what did you purpose me to do? You must stay focus and continue to pursue your goals and dreams even through life circumstances, adversity, and hardships that we all must face. Knowing your true purpose to serve others with your gifts and talents will eventually pay off.

I specializes in interior design, custom audio-video, Im a speaker a great communicator, and I’m an author.

I am a woman builder and developer of my own custom home. I have has been trained by contractors and a builder with over 30 years of experience. Me and my husband literally started with nothing but faith in God! I have inspired, educated, and impacted many people with my unique gifts on how to build and renovate their own custom home or space on a budget, so that they may save hundreds of thousands of dollars or more.

With over 26 years of experience, I have been committed and worked alongside my husband, David McBride and I’m beyond grateful to God.
