Meet Noel Crane of Human Kind Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noel Crane.

Noel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Oh my word, my story is just a perfect culmination of good people who had my highest and best in mind and beautiful opportunities that unfolded. I began my master’s degree in counseling, knowing I wanted to gain a career that made an impact on my community.

Consequently, at the same time, I decided to pursue yoga teacher training. I quickly realized that we were talking about the same thing in both programs. It was a true “a-ha” moment of East meets West in terms of health and healing. I have used my blended background in mental health counseling and yoga philosophy to aid others in experiencing holistic health. I work with the mind, body, and spirit alongside clients, with a true passion for those recovering from severe anxiety and eating disorders. This study has opened up doors I never imagined.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth?? No way! But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Working with others in counseling and yoga is an intimate process where you really have to meet a person where they are at. This can be incredibly humbling, frustrating, healing, inspiring, the whole gamut. Not to mention, getting more than just bribed friends to show up to my classes was a major feat in the beginning!

Working with others also serves as a mirror for the self. The introspection I have had to do along the way has been one of the biggest gifts and hurdles. I would have to say, overall, learning to find a voice as a teacher and embracing what I have to offer the world has been the bumpiest, yet most fulfilling ride. It also gives me a ton of compassion for those I teach, the art of simply showing up and trusting you have enough within you to offer something great to the world.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Human Kind Wellness story. Tell us more about the business.
I am essentially my own company, contracting with agencies, corporations, nonprofits, and individuals offering yoga, meditation, and counseling services. My specialties really all inform one another, so psycho-education tends to be what I do most of. I enjoy teaching others about the benefits of mindfulness, breathing, and stress on the body and brain. Almost every person I come into contact with deeply relates to that last topic!

I am really proud of entering into the non-profit sector, providing psyched and yoga groups to populations that would not typically set foot in a traditional yoga studio or counseling office. At the private practice in Rockwall, Human Kind Wellness, I currently work with Rockwall juvenile services, counseling at-risk teens, which is ALWAYS a growth opportunity. Also just wrapping up a wellness series at Genesis Women’s Shelter with survivors of domestic abuse. These are the projects that grow me the most, and I am proud to say that I will never stop learning and be expanding the gift of yoga into the margins.

Truly, I believe that the unique part of my company is the integration of the yoga and psychological models that hits on all cylinders for clients and students that I teach. Learning about not only the physical body but brain and soul health as well as a gift I love to share.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
No role! Luck isn’t a reality in my story. It’s been the perfect storm of a Divine hand, hard work, good community, and saying YES!
